THE MARVELS: New Trailer Includes A Big SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME And MS. MARVEL Easter Egg

In Spider-Man: No Way Home, the Statue of Liberty received a makeover for...well, reasons which still aren't entirely clear. The landmark made for a great final battle location, though, and was recoloured and redesigned as a way of supposedly paying homage to Steve Rogers/Captain America.

The world presumably believes Steve is dead and, for all we know, he might well be. Marvel Studios has been deliberately vague when it comes to what happened to the hero after Avengers: Endgame and it seems Lady Liberty's new look has stuck.

In the latest trailer for The Marvels, we see the finished Statue and, upon closer inspection, it appears Cap's shield has been repaired and replaced the iconic torch.

This feels like a very deliberate way of making Earth-616's New York look unique and we can't help but wonder whether it will prove important in a future story tied to the Multiverse Saga. You may recall that Marvel Studios edited Ms. Marvel after it was released to change the Statue's colour, confirming both that and this Captain Marvel sequel take place after No Way Home

Take a closer look at Lady Liberty below.

In The Marvels, Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe.

When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau. Together, this unlikely trio must team up and learn to work in concert to save the universe as "The Marvels."

The movie stars Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris, Iman Vellani, Samuel L. Jackson, Zawe Ashton and Park Seo-joon.

The Marvels is currently set to arrive in theaters on November 10.

@WEAPONXOXOXO - this can be applied to people bitching about disney

@supermanrex - With the latest rumblings that Disney may sell-off ESPN, ABC and FX just to raise revenue, the Mouse is getting scared and desperate. 🤨

@supermanrex - Yeah. We should all just tolerate shitty content and the total [frick]ing destruction of IP that some of us has loved and supported for decades.

Disney [frick]ing sucks and everything their current crop of 'creators' touches or 'reimagines' turns to liquid shit that hemorrhages money.

But hey! We're just bitching about quality product for no reason, right?
supermanrex
supermanrex - 7/24/2023, 11:35 AM
@Batmangina - clearly Disney is still in business and is making far more dollars then they lose. so while you hate everything they produce there is clearly far far far more people who are happy with the product they produce overall. not everything is a hit no, but it is still hugely successful because people like it more than are trolling and unhappy. so when you try and fail to include everyone in your distaste of disney...really your over reaching in thinking there is this massive hive mind that agrees with your hateraid.
Batmangina
Batmangina - 7/24/2023, 6:24 PM
@supermanrex - Disney used to be great almost universally across the board from the parks to their products of every type.

Everything is hemorrhaging money at Disney - what part of them losing BILLIONS on parks, streaming and box office are you referring to as the 'far far far more people who are happy...' exactly?

https://variety.com/2023/tv/news/disney-layoffs-end-7000-1235629809/

Everything at Disney is dying at once and they laid off 7,000 people - really sounds like they're crushing it.

It's still a reasonably free country, so you are allowed to like shitty content but the math isn't in your favor.

@Batmangina - first off your hot take is asinine. disneys theme park issues are not just limited to disney. its a national economic issue not because disney has "woke" sensibilities in their movies and products. everyone is having issues with being affordable for customers and staying profitable. EVERYONE doing layoffs across the country across all industries. Turning a national issue into Disney issue because people dont like how disney is ruining whatever shitty little head canon they have about star wars, marvel etc is ASININE AS [frick]!!!!

Batmangina - 7/25/2023, 9:24 PM
@supermanrex - lol okay...I'm sure going viral for Princess Moustache sold shitloads of Fast Passes and their box office hasn't been going in the shitter at an ever increasing pace.

Take another hit of the copium brah.

I'm sure The Marvels and the Mary Sue Palpatine Trilogy will keep you and everyone else happy as clams

2:35 am showing of Oppie sold out, anyone spouting numbers about Barbie, a merchandise monster, the American Hello Kitty, with a pg-13 movie, versus a rated R biography about the man who changed the world. I'm calling my shot, 600m for Oppenheimer MINIMUM, for a historical rated R movie, that's meet level. And yes I really enjoyed Barbie, that crowd was hyped af. Off to 15/70mm Oppenheimer!

@bobevanz - there have been A LOT of articles about how only 60 theatres in all of the US have the intended format, so Im sure those theaters will show disproportionately sold out shows. Especially opening days.

Not that I am sayibg your wrong with the predictions, just why those full theaters might skew your estimate.

@bobevanz - the barbemheimer marketing is really doing wonders. Might pave the way for similar approaches in the future.

@BlackStar25 - I checked out all of the showings in one of my local multiplex theaters and every showing of Barbie is pretty much sold out.

That's insane.

At least now we are getting a more streamlined continuity. Many of the MCU films have felt all over the place post Endgame.

Definitely a better trailer than the initial one. I like what I see so far and will most likely be there opening weekend.
Shivermetimbers
Shivermetimbers - 7/21/2023, 12:04 PM
@Mugens - I agree that is a much better trailer. Almost looks appealing now. Kamala Khan is still really annoying though. I doubt I will be seeing it, but at least this trailer makes it not look like a dumpster fire.

Whack redesign. This was a gift from another country. You wouldn’t put a bumper sticker on a ferrari
TyrantBossMedia
TyrantBossMedia - 7/21/2023, 12:09 PM
@JFerguson - Yeah, but it was just France. They always hate America...until they need our help. Then we help them and they thank us...then they hate us again.
JFerguson
JFerguson - 7/21/2023, 12:16 PM
@TyrantBossMedia - lol. It’s still a tacky thing to reconstruct the entire damn thing
TyrantBossMedia
TyrantBossMedia - 7/21/2023, 12:25 PM
@JFerguson - I agree. Unless it was destroyed then I don't see the purpose behind it especially since it was shown standing in good shape after the "five years later" in Endgame. So many boats were docked around it so it still stood as a beacon of freedom to those who were devastated by the dusting.

But it's Marvel. We shouldn't expect anything more.

@TyrantBossMedia - France is pretty wack, but the Revolutionary War would have been lost by the colonists without them. Objectively, they did good there.

That being said, the US should get oUT OF NATO so the American taxpayer can stop subsidizing current Europe’s defense. Let France, England, Germany and the rest defend their own damn borders.
TyrantBossMedia
TyrantBossMedia - 7/21/2023, 2:38 PM
@mountainman - Sadly, the last time we can give credit to France for doing anything well and helping the United States was 247 years ago.

mountainman
mountainman - 7/21/2023, 2:40 PM
@TyrantBossMedia - Yeah they’ve been pretty lame since then. But I will give them that one. They came in clutch at that time. It was for selfish reasons (to knock England down a peg) but it ended up working out well in the end.
SuperiorHeckler
SuperiorHeckler - 7/21/2023, 3:50 PM
@TyrantBossMedia - If it makes you feel any better, I get the impression that the French hate themselves as well. 😝
TyrantBossMedia
TyrantBossMedia - 7/21/2023, 12:08 PM
I thought that Feige was no longer going to mention the "blip". (I hate that name). It should be called "The Dusting" because people saw themselves turn to dust. Then they saw themselves reassemble from dust as shown in both WandaVision and Hawkeye.

The people around them saw them turn to dust as well, then they saw them come back. And for the people who were left behind it was FAR more than just a "blip" since FIVE YEARS passed since the people around them turned to dust.

Just another reason why Endgame was horrible.

Its not like the SoL was altered just for Spider-Man and Miss Marvel right?

@Lemons - I liked the actor. The writing was crap.
