THE MARVELS: Nia DaCosta's CAPTAIN MARVEL Sequel Has Seemingly Wrapped Production

Though no official announcement has been made, Instagram posts from some crew members who worked on the movie would seem to confirm that principal photography has now wrapped on Nia DaCosta's The Marvels.

It looks like principal photography has now wrapped on The Marvels.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania director Peyton Reed recently took to Twitter to confirm that he'd finished filming his Marvel Studios threequel, and while we haven't had official word from The Marvels helmer Nia DaCosta, two crew members who worked on the movie shared the following to their Insta stories earlier today.

Check out the screenshots below via the BLBR fan-account.

It's somewhat surprising that a major superhero blockbuster was able to finish-up a 160-day shoot without so much as a single photo leak from the set, but here we are! Hopefully, DaCosta will share a follow-up post confirming the news, and maybe even an official behind-the-scenes snap to go with it.

Plot details for the Captain Marvel sequel are still under wraps (you can check out a vague logline here), but we do know that Ms. Marvel star Iman Vellani will make her big-screen debut as Kamala Khan, and WandaVision's Teyonah Parris will reprise the role of Monica Rambeau. British actress Zawe Ashton (Fresh Meat, Velvet Buzzsaw) is also on board as the main villain, who is rumored to be a gender-swapped take on Kree warrior Ael-Dan.

In addition, Samuel L. Jackson recently confirmed that he will appear as Nick Fury.

DaCosta will direct from a script by WandaVision writer Megan McDonnell. The Marvels is set to fly into theaters on February 17, 2023.
