We know many of you were confused and frustrated when The Marvels failed to make its presence felt during last weekend's Super Bowl. After all, that seemed like the perfect place to hype up the sequel with a trailer, especially as it could then play in front of Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania.
Well, we now have a pretty good idea why Marvel Studios held off on dropping a first look.
A poster for the Captain Marvel sequel was just released across the studio's social media platforms and, while it's not their best effort, it is pretty cool. As well as showing off the new costumes Carol Danvers, Monica Rambeau, and Kamala Khan (Ms. Marvel) will don in the movie, we even have a clever new tagline that harkens back to its 2019 predecessor.
However, don't let that distract you from the fact The Marvels is now set to be released on November 10, 2023 instead of July 28, 2023!
The sequel has indeed been hit by a release date delay, with the upcoming Haunted Mansion movie taking its place. We can only assume this has something to do with Marvel Studios looking to get back to quality over quantity.
Phase 4 has seen them receive some of their worst reviews, and Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania just kicked off Phase 5 with a "Rotten" score. With that in mind, we wouldn't be shocked if reshoots are in order for this movie, though time will tell on that front.
