Possible SPOILERS follow from this point on...
In recent days, we've been hearing a lot about The Marvels featuring a potentially game-changing cameo. Go digging and you'll be able to find out who it is (we're not going to share it here for fear of facing Disney's wrath) but a newly released promo appears to reveal another surprise appearance.
As you can see below, Marvel Studios has started pushing the fact this movie will have ties to the wider Multiverse Saga (rather than being the throwaway 90-minute team-up many have dismissed it as).
It appears Dar-Benn's bangle - Ms. Marvel wields the other - is causing another reality to bleed into Earth-616; that sounds an awful lot like an incursion to us!
What's really grabbed the attention of fans, though, is the fact Monica Rambeau appears to come face-to-face with an unidentified costumed hero. Some have been quick to point out that the costume bears a striking resemblance to what Binary wears, and while it's possible this is Carol Danvers' new look, the prevailing theory now is that it’s a Maria Rambeau from another reality. Could it be the Earth-838 Variant who was part of the Illuminati? We didn't technically see her die, and it's feasible a being that powerful would shake off being buried beneath a statue!
Very early plot leaks suggested The Marvels would end with Photon stranded in another reality, and while that does still appear to be the plan, it appears some changes have been made, especially if chatter about what sounds like an absolute beast of a cameo are correct (keep a close eye on the "X" in "NEXT").
We’ll have to wait and see, but we’d guess whatever Multiversal craziness plays out here will be picked up on in Deadpool 3 and Avengers: The Kang Dynasty...
In The Marvels, Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe.
When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau. Together, this unlikely trio must team up and learn to work in concert to save the universe as "The Marvels."
The movie stars Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris, Iman Vellani, Samuel L. Jackson, Zawe Ashton and Park Seo-joon.
The Marvels is currently set to arrive in theaters on November 10.
