Brie Larson has made three appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since debuting in 2019's Captain Marvel, including Avengers: Endgame and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. The latter two movies were basically just cameos, of course, but Carol Danvers will once again take centre stage alongside Ms. Marvel and Spectrum in The Marvels.
While shooting on the sequel wrapped last year, the Oscar-winner Tweeted out a photo from the movie's set yesterday, simply saying: "See you in a year, Carol."
It's possible Larson was just referring to the fact that The Marvels is now one year away from hitting theaters, though there is some speculation online that the actress may have just wrapped reshoots. Either way, the movie - which will be set in the present day - promises to reveal more about Carol's place in the MCU and establish Kamala Khan and Monica Rambeau as superheroes in their own right.
The latter was introduced in WandaVision and gained her abilities thanks to the Hex created around Westview by the Scarlet Witch. Kamala, meanwhile, will become Ms. Marvel in her own Disney+ series. We don't really know what to expect beyond that, but the movie will likely tie into Secret Invasion.
The Marvels is set to be released in theaters on February 17, 2023.
