In The Marvels' post-credits scene, Lashana Lynch played yet another Variant of Maria Rambeau and met her daughter from Earth-616 after she arrived in a world a version of the X-Men calls home.

The actor first played the character in Captain Marvel and later reprised the role in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness for a battle with the Scarlet Witch as Earth-838's Captain Marvel. After appearing in flashbacks in The Marvels, she then appeared in the aforementioned stinger as Binary.

The sequence appeared to suggest that this Maria is a member of the X-Men, a huge development which will likely play out in Deadpool & Wolverine or the next Avengers movies.

This week, we spoke with Lynch about her incredible work in Bob Marley: One Love. During the conversation, The Marvels star also shared her feelings about potentially joining that iconic team of mutants for her next MCU adventure.

"I mean, even that sentence, I’m like, 'Am I?'" she responded when we talked about Binary being a member of the X-Men. "That’s not a sentence that’s been put to me at all; we’ve not had a conversation about that. I dipped in for, I think a day. I think I had one day on that film which is wild for it to be so impactful. I was there for a day because I was on Matilda at the time, so that’s wild."

"I don’t know. I don’t know. I used to find it a little bit of a hindrance to not know as I like to know what’s coming and plan, but I love now that I don’t know," Lynch continued. "I love that I didn’t know that was happening. That’s something that came across time as a slow plan. Well, for me, anyway. They probably had it planned the whole time."

"I genuinely don’t know what’s next, but I think with where the franchise is going, it’s naturally going to be exciting. And I’m excited to see where it goes next."

The actor also talks to us about bonding with co-star Kingsley Ben-Adir (Secret Invasion) about their respective MCU roles and you can hear more on that in the player above. We'll also be sharing the full transcription of our Bob Marley: One Love conversation tomorrow.
