THE MARVELS Tops Fandango Poll To Be Named This Fall's Most Highly Anticipated Release By Moviegoers

It appears excitement for The Marvels is building as it's topped Fandango's list of most anticipated fall releases. However, this poll was conducted prior to Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour being announced!

Fandango frequently polls moviegoers to discover what their most highly-anticipated upcoming movies are and there's good news for The Marvels today.

The Marvel Studios movie has topped the list, beating The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes (which, ironically, will be released just one week later). Dune: Part Two moving to 2024 is good news for them both, anyway, and should ensure the only movie these two battle is, well, each other.

Also worth pointing out is the fact that, despite often receiving unwarranted hate from certain "fans" online, Brie Larson's Captain Marvel has been named "Most Anticipated Main Character." Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury, meanwhile, is the "Most Anticipated Supporting Character."

Here are the full results from over 2000 polled filmgoers.

In The Marvels, Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe.

When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau. Together, this unlikely trio must team up and learn to work in concert to save the universe as "The Marvels."

The movie stars Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris, Iman Vellani, Samuel L. Jackson, Zawe Ashton and Park Seo-joon.

The Marvels is currently set to arrive in theaters on November 10.

I’m still excited to see this. Just want a fun time at the movies.

With that being said, not sure these Fandango polls amount to much when it comes to box office numbers. Will be interesting to see how this does at the BO.

@thedrudo - Especially when you look at that list of fall releases. That's a pretty dreadful list of films IMO. Understandable for Marvels to be on top, but doesnt mean it will be a big success. Interested to see if it can even make more than half of the first one.

@Shivermetimbers - For real. I am genuinely excited to see the Marvels, but it's also one of only three on that list that I care about (the other to being A Haunting in Venice and Killers of the Flower Moon.)

@thedrudo -
"not sure these Fandango polls amount to much when it comes to box office numbers."

They are meaningless. Ant-Man 3 was ranked as the third most anticipated movie of 2023. Mario was 10th...

@Shivermetimbers - Agreed. There’s a handful I’m going to see but probably wouldn’t if I didn’t have the Regal Unlimited pass.

I'm surprised Disney hasn't moved the film a week up to Dune's original slot. That would give them two weeks of play before The Hunger Games nabs premium screens.

The trailers for this haven't really done it for me. I mostly see MCU movies opening night but I might just do a discount Tuesday for this one.

@MovieMonster - I bet a lot of marketing material has already went to press, and includes the date

Does anticipation turn into dollars? We will find out.

Hilarious that "A Haunting in Venice" is number 4. I didn't think any of the Poirot stuff drew in audiences

Must be anticipated by people who like bad movies.

Saw Equalizer 3. Pretty good. Would have liked a little more action but overall it was pretty entertaining.

Honestly , this is just me but I’m not interested in seeing pretty much any American film atleast in theaters right now (maybe The Creator being the only one but that’s it).

Nothing interests me enough sadly in this fall lineup.

I think the Marvels looks fun and I’m interested in A Haunting in Venice but idk if I’ll check ‘em out in theaters as of now

Anyway , still a cool list though!!
