Originally introduced as the scantily clad Ms. Marvel in the 1977 comic of the same name, Carol Danvers soared from there, becoming an Avenger, and eventually the new holder of the "Captain Marvel" moniker. Her past and personality has been fleshed out a great deal in recent years, while Marvel Comics quickly established her as one of their universe's most powerful superheroes.

On the big screen, Carol made her debut in 2019's Captain Marvel, a $1 billion blockbuster. From there, she would have small, but memorable, roles in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, and is now getting a sequel of her own. However, the character's influence in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is spreading thanks to upcoming Disney+ TV shows like Ms. Marvel and Secret Invasion!

Debuting in All Star Comics#8 in October 1941, Diana Prince has shared a strong feminist message from the very start, and her influence has only expanded over the years. Becoming a member of the Justice League of America, Wonder Woman has been firmly established as one the DC Universe's greatest heroes, and her adventures have taken a number of exciting forms over the years.

Diana is no stranger to movies either, of course, while she's had a pretty prolific television career as well! After that classic TV series starring Lynda Carter, Wonder Woman was released in 2017 to widespread acclaim following a cameo appearance in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Justice League followed, while Wonder Woman 1984 arrives in theaters and HBO Max this Christmas.

There's no denying that Captain Marvel and Wonder Woman are two of the world's all-time greatest superheroes, but we now want you to decide which of these archers is better! You can do that by casting your vote in the poll below, while we'd love to also hear your thoughts on them below.

Be sure to check back here next week for the results and another instalment of CBM's Sunday Showdown. If you have any characters you think should be pitted against each other here, let us know!
