New Ironheart Solo Series On The Way

Marvel Comics Ironheart

Following her debut in the pages of Invincible Iron Man, Riri Williams will be getting her own ongoing series.

Marvel has announced (via the Chicago Tribune) that playwright Eve Ewing and artist Kevin Libranda will work on the new Ironheart comic, which is due to be released towards the end of the year.

Here's what Ewing had to say about getting the opportunity to continue Riri's story:

"...When Marvel said we’re actually thinking about doing a solo title for Riri, that was like ‘Omigosh, this is the coolest thing ever.’ It’s really special, because this is a character that has some groundwork laid already but is still very new in terms of her role in the Marvel universe; it’s almost like getting into business on the ground floor. I get to play a role in really shaping who she is and who she’s going to become.”

Is There A Subtle Wolverine Easter Egg In The World's Greatest Showman?

Image result for wolverine arms

It looks like whoever was responsible for putting the opening credits of Hugh Jackman's The World's Greatest Showman together was a big fan of the actor's most famous role.

An eagle-eyed Reddit user has spotted what appears to be a subtle Wolverine easter egg in the border of the film's credit sequence. It could just be a huge coincidence, but this certainly looks like Logan's signature crossed-arm pose with claws unsheathed.

Preacher Season 3 Finale Promo Stills

Last night's explosive episode of Preacher laid the groundwork for a typically bonkers season finale next Sunday, and Bloody Disgusting has now debuted a batch of stills which give us some idea of what to expect.

It looks like Jesse is going to have another crack at defeating Jody in hand-to-hand combat. Best of luck, Custer! Plus, Tulip appears to be busting Eugene out of a bus bound for Hell.

We already got a glimpse of the new costume Logan will be debuting in Charles Soule and Steve McNiven's Return of Wolverine, and here we have a first look at a new villain that's going to be causing problems for the recently resurrected mutant.

We still don't have any details on Persephone, but she's named after the Greek Goddess of The Underworld, which is probably not a very good sign for Ol' Canucklehead.

Captain Marvel Trailer Imminent?

Related image

Finally, an Instagram post from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. star Clark Gregg has fueled speculation that we might be getting the first trailer for Captain Marvel in just a couple of weeks time.

Gregg, who will reprise the role of Phil Coulson in the Marvel Studios film, posted an image with the number 15, which has led many to assume that we'll see the teaser in 15 days.

Of course, this could mean any number of things, but the time-frame does match-up as Marvel usually debuts their first trailers between 6 and 7 months out from the movie's release.

Will be awesome to get the trailer, pumped for that film after IW.

Also I can not wait for Outlaw King. It's going to be so god damn good with that cast and director. I'm such a sucker for films in that time period.

Or that we're getting 15 more seasons of Agents of Shield?

Glad GLOW is getting another season. For Preacher the Saint better not lose that damn fight to the Nazis. All I all I'm pretty positive towards this season of Preacher. Its sucks everybody's spread out but the separate story lines are pretty solid. I'd say I like this season over season 2. And cant wait for Captain Marvel trailer.

Riri Williams?
Bet it doesn't make it to issue 6.
Today's comics are about as exciting as fancy colored coloring books. And about as much action in there, as well.
Take a page from any, say, Gene Colan Daredevil and compare it to anything being done today. Today's work wouldn't even pass muster as 60/70s fan art. You'd never get past Stan Lee's secretaries door.
How the mighty have fallen.

@rocketeuropa -
I bet it's only a 6 issue mini.
That's how Marvel does it now.
Asguardians of the Galaxy is also a mini unless sales are really good.

@rocketeuropa - This is going to be offensive, but this is just my opinion. Honestly, I’d prefer mostly anything compared to 60s comics. Stan Lee’s writing is [frick]ing painful to read. Same for most writers of the era. Art looks kinda goofy. The characters are using [frick]ing radios and smoke flairs. That’s not really the writers fault, but it’s still super weird. Also, it gets frustrating listening to everyone over-explain things, and constantly announce what powers they’re using. And please, chill out with the exclamation points Stan.

I don’t really get the reverence. Im not saying you’re wrong by any means, this is taste, but I just don’t get the sentiment. A modern comic, even the worst ones, seem vastly superior in aesthetic and storytelling. They don’t treat you like a child, and they usually have some pretty impressive detail in both writing and panels.

Old comics are like a cute history lesson, but I don’t find them very entertaining.
