Well ladies and gentlemen, we have come to a point where there will be 7 comic-book movies in one year. 2016 is shaping up to be a really  cool year for movies, and 5 of these movie will be from Marvel (2 from Marvel studios, 2 from Fox and 1 from Sony) and also 2 movies from WB/DC.

So let’s take a look on the line-up of the big movies of 2016:

DeadPool - February 12

This movie is finally happening! I don’t know if it’s going to be a rated-R or a PG-13 movie, either way the Merc with a Mouth is going to be rocking in 2016. However it goes down, I really don’t think that Fox will do the same horridness mistake that they did in X-Men Origins. It will be very interesting to see where Fox goes with this one, and how it connects to the other X-Men movies.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice - March 25

Batman! Superman! Batman vs. Superman! Do we really need anything else? One can only hope that this movie will be amazing, but let’s just pray that Snyder will be able to make this movie to the epic movie it has to be. Let’s just hope that this movie will be good and great, and the DC cinematic movie will finally play out, because we really need a Justice League movie in 2017!

Captain America 3 - May 6

Capt 2 was really good, and we can only hope that Capt 3 will be even better. I don’t know what the storyline will be, but I trust in Marvel to make a great movie.

X-Men: Apocalypse – May 27

Age of Apocalypse is upon us now, and it’s time for En Sabah Nur to kick some ass. After “Days of Future Past” I have faith in Fox, because it seems like they got their shit together, and I hope that Apocalypse will be the best X-Men movie ever.

Doctor Strange? – July 8

Well. Marvel didn’t officially announce that Doctor Strange is their 2nd movie in 2016, but it is highly possible. If Joaquin Phoenix will actually play the Doctor it will be really great, plus this one will be a very different Marvel movie.

Shazam? – August 5

We don’t know yet what WB and DC are planning, but they are cocking something big. With bunch of movies and TV-shows, it seems like WB is shooting DC properties all over the place. We know that there are 2 DC movies in 2016, and now that we all know that the Rock will be Black Adam, it’s highly possible that Shazam! Will be that 2nd DC movie. Just say the word…

The Sinister Six - November 11

I wasn’t a big fan of Amazing Spider-Man 2. And out of the all superhero movies that are coming in 2016, this one if the least that I’m looking forward, But who knows, that might change if Sony gets their shit together. I don’t know if it will be Spider-Man who fights 6 different villains, or will it be the villains who join up and fight a bigger villain. Anyway, let’s just hope for a good movie.

Other Big Movies:

Ben-Hur - February 26
The remake to one of the most epic movies ever made is maybe not necessary, but it’s coming in 2016 nonetheless.

Warcraft - March 11
Could Warcraft be the first video-game that is actually good and successful? Well, let’s hope so. It has a great cast and I do believe that Duncan Jones could do something cool.

Star Trek 3? – Middle of May
Well we know it’s coming at some point, and it is rumored that the movie will go into darkness…I mean into prodactuion very soon, so a 2016 release is very possible. May 2016 is pretty empty right now, so I think that the movie might come out somewhere there, after all, Into Darkness came out in May also.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 – June 3
Well, love it or hate it, TMNT did some good money in the box office, and the sequel is coming. I actually think that the movie was fun, it wasn’t really good, but it might end up as a guilty pleasure.

Uncharted – June 10
Yet another video-game adaptation and this one actually can be really good.

Transformers 5? – End of June
Well, we know it’s coming, even if we don’t want it to come. It was reported that Wahlberg isn’t coming back, so maybe this movie will be all in space, with no humans? Maybe Transformers is going all Guardians of the Galaxy on us? Could we finally get the Transformers we deserve? Or will it be yet again a 2 hour and half action and explosion porn commercial?

Independence Day 2 – July 1
How funny it will be if ID2 comes out in the same weekend as Transformers 5. Well let’s hope that after the First Independence Day movie humanity had built some new monument, because Roland Emmerich is going to blow them up.  Hey, Roland, where’s the Stargate remake?

Tarzan – July 1
David Yates brings Tarzan back, with Alexander Skarsgård, Margot Robbie and Christoph Waltz, I’m sold. Plus Samuel L. Jackson is going to be there too.

The Bourne Betrayal – July 15
Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass are teaming up again for yet another Bourne movie. Cool, let’s hope that Jeremy Renner will be there too.

Power Rangers – July 22
Go Go Power Rangers! I used to be a big Power Rangers fan, and I always wanted a big movie about the Rangers, so I’m happy. I hope that Lionsgate gives us a cool movie.

King Arthur – July 22
Guy Ritchie gives us King Arthur with the President of SAMCRO and Idris Elba. Let’s hope that Ritchie gets his grove back.

Planet of the Apes 3 – July 29
Apes of horses! Oh, wait we already had that. Apes on bikes? Apes on jets? Who cares, let us watch this movie already.

The Jungle Book: Origins - October 21
First Tarzan and now Mowgli, wow, 2016 is packed. I’m really excited to see this one, since we going to see some performance capture magic, just like in Apes. Andy Serkis, Benedict Cumberbatch, Christian Bale and Cate Blanchett? Sign me up.

Skull Island - November 4
King Kong is coming back, could he be as big as Godzilla? Could we get a Kong vs. Godzilla in 2020 or something like that? Please!!!!  Oh, and Tom Hiddleston is in it too, sold.

Star Wars stand-alone film - December 16
Will it be a Han Solo spin-off? Old man Ben Kenobi? Space crime movie with Boba Fett? Chilling with Yoda? Gareth Edwards you better not screw it up.

Avatar 2? – December
Oh right, that comes out too, probably in 2016.

Shit, can we skip on 2015?
Man, this year is going to be something…

Every month except for January has at least one movie that I'm interested in. Yes, 2016 will indeed be the greatest movie year ever.

Also, Marvel did confirm Doctor Strange was their mystery 2016 film.

Didn't Marvel say they were planning on releasing 3 movies per year? Is there another one set for 2016

It might be the best year for CBMs, but in my opinion 1994 will always be the best year for movies.

CBM's are peaking right now ...2016 is where the general audience is going get annoyed/lose interest. Superheroes have to follow the same rules that vampires and pirates had to follow before them: what goes up, must come down. To most of this is our lives, something we have committed our time and money to because we have passion and are not part of an A.D.D society that loses interest quite quickly. To that general public, this is a fad. I will say that this year was the best year to be a CBM fan in the quality in the quantity of films we were provided. Guardians and Cap were probably the best Marvel studios films thus far (arguable, of course). X-Men: DOFP is probably the best of the X-Men films. A Dame to Came For finally came out. Spiderman 2 had its bright spots. TMNT was not nearly as terrible many thought it would be. And Big Hero 6 is, at the least, going to do well at the box office if the in theater reactions to the trailer is any indication. In addition, some really nerdy films came out. Planet of the Apes was GREAT. Godzilla was an enjoyable but flawed flick. I think this is indeed the best we are going to get for this generation of CBM's. 2016 is going overwhelm the audience ...and I think even us to an extent. That passion will be drained for a tad bit, especially for those of us who sees both DC and Marvel films in theaters. They won't be terrible but that meh feeling is going to kick in for us ...even if they are great films. It is the nature of the beast even when the market isn't over saturated.

My money is set aside normally for the two marvel offerings and then whatever is getting good buzz and I have interest in. This year I only saw the Lego Movie, Cap, DOFP, and then Guardians of the Galaxy seven times. I would rather see a movie I love multiple times than give money to something I know I am not going to walk out with the same excitement with ...like the Bay Turtles film. With 2016... I am probably only seeing three of those films: Cap, X-Men, and Doctor Strange. I expect delays for Deadpool and even then I am going to wait for more information and then reactions after it comes out. I have never been interested in Batman or Superman in character nor any D.C character outside of the Titans therefore I do not see any mainline DCU movie in theaters. I am sure the Batman and Superman fans will love it and that there will be thousands articles about how we misunderstood the film for the few of us that had criticisms of it, but they just do nothing for me nor keep my appeal. Also, the fandom can be a bit grating at times and makes me want to just avoid these movies in general. If I hear the Rock put out an amazing performance, I might go out and catch Shazam for him alone. Wrestling fans do not have a lot of people that cross over into the mainstream well ...so we will take what we can get.

@Omarvls

Unless you want to provide a source, only one of those is confirmed for 2017. Common sense (and Snyder's perfectionism)would place Justice League more around the 2018/2019 spectrum. Even if they film back to back, when there has been no indication of such a thing happening, WB and Snyder are going to want to make it perfect. Wonder Woman depends solely on how the public responds to Gal Gadot. Though you are probably spot on about Ragnarok. And I think the new property will either be Captain Marvel or Black Panther ...though if rumors are true then Captain Marvel is the safer bet at this point.

But please do not disguise guesses as fact.

Batman v Superman, Cap 3 and X-Men Apocalypse are clearly the heavy hitters of that year and are guaranteed to make bank at the box office. The other ones are up in the air, though. I'm sure more than a few will underperform or bomb completely.

I'll see all in theaters except for Cap 3 unless I hear exceptional things about it.
