Amazing Spider-Man issue 010

After swapping his mind into Peter's body, one of Spider-Man's greatest enemies, Doctor Octopus, set out to prove himself the Superior Spider-Man. He also completed Peter's PhD, fell in love with a woman named Anna Maria Marconi, and started his own company, "Parker Industries." But in the end Doc Ock realized that in order to be a true hero, he had to sacrifice himself and give control of Peter's body back to Peter.
Peter recently found out that someone else, Cindy Moon A.K.A. Silk, was bitten by his radioactive Spider giving her similar powers to Peter. And that's not the only thing they have in common.

THE AMAZING

SPIDER-MAN

ISSUE 010

Spider-Verse just keeps getting better and better! This issue picks up where it seemed that Miles Morales of Earth-1610 was sure to meet his doom, that is of course until SpOck's little Spider-army saves his bacon. Octavius has assembled quite the team, himself,  an Assassin and a Punk Spider-Man. Quite the ruthless team. I am surprised he went to Miles' Universe, unless of course he was tracking the Inheritors. I absolutely love the line "Spider-Up or die!". It sounds like something you's expect to hear as a soldier. But then again Octavius is a big fan of armies. Both Miles and Jess "Spider-Up" and disappear through Octavius' inter-dimensional portal, but Miles has just enough time to threaten "Verna of the Inheritors".
First Page, Second Page & Third Page

Meanwhile on Earth-13, AKA The Safe Zone, the Spider-Totems have elected Peter, our Peter that is, the "Chosen one". But as usual before Peter can try and offload this new responsibility he is interrupted by the arrival of SpOcks team. Though Silk seems more interested in Kaine rather than the life or death situation she has found herself in.
Fourth Page

Peter, Spider-UK and the ever so quiet Old Man Spider discuss tactics for intercepting Octavius' team of Spider-Men. However all of the Peters agree that the Gwen Stacy Spider-Woman is to stay behind, much to her dismay, if only she knew of her fate in the 616 Universe. It bothers me how reckless Silk can be, yes she is new to the whole hero thing, but she has been studying Peter for years, you'd think that she might've learnt when not to get involved in a fight,
Fifth Page & Sixth Page

Back in 2099, where Octavius has assembled his "Superior Spider-Army", the Spider-Groups arrived to aid SpOck and help him. But of course Octavius is too full of himself to listen, and to make it worse Peter has to watch his own body be controlled by his worst enemy. Also I seem to recall Octavius' last army not doing so well. It is at this point in the comic where Miguel O'Hara branches off from the group and the events of Spider-Man 2099 #6 take place.
Seventh Page & Eighth Page

Spider-UK breaks the awkward silence by offering to take SpOck and his Army to the safe Zone, yet of course Octavius has yet to learn that he is NOT that Superior so he is being a bit of a douche. But he did create a device that masked his scent and the other Spiders as I suspected...just not from him. As you will be aware if you have read my previous reviews I expected Silk or Peter to have made such a  device. As Old Man Spider starts to tell us a bit more about Silks purpose and so on, they are attacked by an Inheritor, Daemos, yet SpOck seems to have been prepared.
Ninth Page & Tenth Page

The Superior Spider-Army spring into action; punches, bullets, web lines, kicks and anything else they can think of is hurtled at Daemos, but it is not enough, the Cyborg Spider-Man is destroyed, but justice is swift and SpOck kills him. Octavius basks in the glory and starts to talk about sending Silk away as Miguel joins the fight once more from his antics at Alchemax.
Eleventh Page & Twelfth Page

Their victory is short lived as Daemos feeds off of Old Man Spiders energy, and it turns out he was the only one who knew anything about the Inheritors mission and what this whole situation was about. As Daemos and the other two Inheritors spring on the Spider-Army they all shout swears at the sudden arrival and scatter back through their portals to the safe zone. I absolutely love this twist on the story, it truly is fantastic!
Thirteenth Page & Fourteenth Page

SpOck is moaning like the sore loser he is as the clone Spiders disappear, but you will have to buy the issue to find out why. Old Spider-Man is still alive and passes on some vital information to Peter concerning Silk. The one trait Silk seems to have picked up from Peter is his blind idiotic bravery that only usually works out because of good O'l Parker luck. She steals the portal creators and jumps off, followed by Spider-Woman and I think Spider-Man Noire. Peter, SpOck and Miguel go back through the portal to the safe zone with Daemos' corpse. The Spider-Verse now has a test subject to figure out how the Inheritors tick. But Octavius only sees one solution to their success, to put himself in charge.
Sixteenth Page, Seventeenth Page & Eighteenth Page

My Overall View

Spider-Verse just keeps getting better! Oliver Copiel and Justin Ponsor are really bringing each and every aspect of the story to life on the page, and I really do have to tip my hat to Dan Slott, he truly does know hat he is doing. This story had a beautiful arc, I can't wait to see how Peter and SpOck react around each other. Because as you are all aware Peter knows that it is Octavius in his body, so he may try and do something stupid. I hope that the Morlun family will have a very heavy fall, but I doubt that will happen for a long time. Yet I will say that Spider-Verse is getting very complex now with each of the crossover issues, I have been following all of them so far and they definitely do help with creating a full story. I give this issue a solid 10/10 and I can not wait to see the second issue of Spider-verse or issue 11 of this.
