Mark Waid's IRREDEEMABLE And INCORRUPTIBLE Are Being Adapted At Netflix As Live-Action Feature Film

There's some exciting news for fans of Mark Waid's Irredeemable and Incorruptible as dirctor Jeymes Samuel (The Harder They Fall) and Kemp Powers (Soul) are teaming up to adapt both comics for Netflix.

BOOM! Studios has announced that Netflix is developing Irredeemable and Incorruptible for a live-action movie with The Harder They Fall director Jeymes Samuel and Academy Award-Nominated screenwriter Kemp Powers (Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse).

The movie will feature the protagonists from each series; one a villain on a quest to become a superhero, and the other a fallen hero turned villain, as they face off.

When the world’s most powerful and beloved superhero, the god-like Plutonian, inexplicably begins slaughtering everyone on Earth, the only person that can stop him is his former arch-nemesis, the super-powered villain Max Damage. Unwillingly thrust into the role of savior, Max must uncover the Plutonian’s mysterious past in order to discover how to bring him down. But can he discover what made the Plutonian go crazy before his own degenerative super powers cause him to lose his mind?

While this could have made for a compelling TV series, Jupiter's Legacy made many comic book fans doubt Netflix's ability to tell these superhero stories in a long-form setting. However, a movie based on this property - which was created by Mark Waid (Kingdom Come) and illustrated by Peter Krause - definitely has some potential, and the two titles combined have sold over 2.5 million copies.

There's currently no word on casting or the movie's release date (we don't even have an official title yet), but this is a positive update on a project that's been discussed for several years.

Are you excited to check out this adaptation of Irredeemable and Incorruptible?
