All the members of the Bat-Family are getting ready to go up against the Court of the Owls. The secret society dates back to Gotham City's foundation. The Court has a cadre of assassins known as Talons that execute its will. This May, everyone connected with Batman is in danger. DC has released the first image in a series that will continue all of this week and part of next that showcases the Talons from the past as well as others that will wreak havoc on Gotham during Night of the Owls.
Up first is the Talon from 1660.
Batman artist Greg Capullo spoke on the creation of the original Talon:
I thought about owls for a minute, and the hooded owl sprang to mind. So I gave him a hood like an executioner. As for the lines of the suit, I let the thought of birds guide my hand. An owl design simply made sense.
The blog also states that this Talon appeared in 1660 and is resurrected to battle
Catwoman. Capullo did some research to make the design capture the proper look of the time period.
I Googled garb and weapons from the period to get the right feel. I mixed, I matched and modified what I’d seen into a design that looked dangerous.
You can the battle in
