Source: USA Today Per Diamond Comic Distributors, Justice League No. 1, which spearheaded the "New 52" relaunch this past September sold more copies than any other single comic during the year, reports USA Today. Here's a look at the top 10 individual selling comic books and graphic novels of 2011 which sees DC dominating rival Marvel. However, don't let that fool you, overall, Marvel still enjoyed a 37% dollar market share and 41% unit market share in 2011, compared to 31% and 37% for DC, keeping the House of Ideas atop the comic publishing game. With this recent surge by the new 52, it will be interesting to see how 2012 plays out. Also, shout-out to the fine-folks at Image for keeping the graphic novel industry going with strong showings behind the strength of The Walking Dead series. Marvel and DC really need to step up their graphic novel game, we're a long ways away from the likes of Kingdom Come and X-Men: Mutant Massacre and I know I'm not alone in jonesing for more excellent stand-alone stories.
