We had previously only heard about the first two core-members - Misty Knight and Valkyrie - but according to the article over at Newsarama, Mutant Dani Moonstar will also be joining the ranks. Here are 3 pages of Will Sliney's interior artwork from the first issue, along with the cover just in case you missed it first time around..

haha, sorry...forgot that was no longer considered a PC term..must have flashed back to my great uncle Jim Bob or something.

Anyway, Emm, I dunno, Misty looks African American to me even without the colored pages. She has slightly thicker lips for instance. Ok so they don't go all out with the differences sometimes but that just various from artist to artist. Plus, there ARE plenty of different races with very Caucasian looking features anyway.

AMEN... OMG... AMEN!!!
I know what you are feeling. It's the truth. It seems like another form of adulation of Caucasian physical features to me. We all know and have seen the features of the negroid looking people all of our lives... Their head shapes, their lips, their ties ect, are typically different; if I'm drawing a black character, it has to be evident in to the black and white version of the comic, I need to "clearly" distinguish every race please.

Forget about whether Misty looks "black enough," and focus on how the art looks like a damn coloring book. I know these are D-list characters, but come on.

So, Misty Knight, Valkyrie, Moonstar... an all-ladies team? Yeah, that worked out real well with Heroes For Hire. And where's Colleen?

If they are trying to gear this for more female readers as well, they should at least tone down the obvious Tits 'n' Ass posses in almost every panel! -_-
