COMICS: Marvel Reveals The All-New 'Wasp' And She Looks An Awful Lot Like [SPOILER]

Janet Van Dyne is being replaced as The Wasp later this year, and Marvel has today revealed a first look at their "All-New" take on the character. While her identity has yet to be revealed, we may have figured it out!

Marvel recently revealed that we'll meet the All-New Wasp in one of their Free Comic Book Day offerings, but the solicitation text and cover for Avengers #9 gives us our first look at the character. Here's what the former teases:

"New Story Starts NOW! Introducing the all-new Wasp! Who is she? What is she? And what does she intend to do about Earth’s Mightiest Heroes?"

That doesn't shed much light on anything, but the Alex Ross illustrated image below does. Those of you who remember the MC2 Universe's Red Queen (a.k.a Hope Van Dyne) should instantly recognise the similarities between that costume and this one, so it appears as if yet another Marvel Cinematic Universe character is coming to the comics.

What do you guys think? Weigh in with your theories in the usual place.

There should be a scene in Ant Man two where it shows Scott and Hope in the same situation Hank and Janet was in before when they were in their prime and they switch back and forth between young Hank Pym and Scott and between Hope and Janet.. Would be a good way to incorporate the original Ant Man and Wasp inthe MCU in some capacity

@Matchesz - But he was put in that situation in the first movie.

I definitely wouldn't say it is awful. This is very much an updated homage to her original look from the first Avengers issue.

I think it is pretty good not my favorite design for Wasp. I personally always liked her Mighty Avengers look post Civil War.

I found Hope whiny, never liked Evangeline Lily in anything I've seen her in.

So is this Hope a refugee from the MC2 universe like Miles Morales from Ultimate and Miguel OHara and Captain America from 2099?

I wouldn't mind that.

I'm fine with this as long as they aren't just pushing Jan to the side. She needs the spotlight as well.

Seriously, they shouldn't make the sequel "Ant-man and Wasp," they should focus on their strenghths, which is Paul Rudd's charm. He and Evangeline Lily had zero chemistry anyway.

@FishyZombie - The problem of Ant Man is they had a great story and characters but never understand either of them and create a product make really "safe" to dont lost money that is the sad true.

They give too much liberty to piece of shit like "Iron Man 3" and too little creative development to characters who needed like Scott Lang.

If you want to understand how a good Scott Lang story is you need to read "Ant Man" the best comic about Scott Lang and the sequel is pretty awesome.

The problem of Ant Man is that Scott Lang isnt a criminal, is Robin Hood, Scott Lang is a guy who make mistakes and later learn about them, because his daughter needs him, the movie destroy this part.

Also Maggie never forgives Scott but at the end he understand he is a hero, in the movie they underused and lost the chance to show that great development of character.

Darren Cross is a pussy, the real Darren Cross had anger issues and his own anger was his bigger problem, in the movie they mix part of Darren Cross with Egghead, the Hank Pym nemesis and we get this piece of crap.

The sequel could be good, but Marvel needs to stop making product and begin making movies.

I always thought that in the Antman sequel Janet would be brought back and be the villain as Red Queen having gone mad from prolonged exposure to pun particles.

@maxx - haha that was brave. I agree sometimes. I'm not a fan of his renditions of Spidey at all, and I think his Batman looks weird.
