Marvel has released two new pieces of concept art for Captain America: Steve Rogers, that gives us a better look at the Captain's new suit and shield design. Along with that, Jesus Saiz, who will be doing the art for the comic, revealed how Captain America's new suit design came to be. "Cap’s redesign has actually been created by the magnificent Daniel Acuña, and it truly is an incredible design. It’s very modern, and at the same time perfectly identifiable as Captain America at first glance. It has all the classic elements you’d expect to find in the character’s suit, but updated in a very clever way."

Saiz then spoke on his new shield, and explained how it's a call back to the shield Steve has held in the original comics. "And the greatest part [is] the shield, indeed!. Its shape is similar to the original shield Cap had back in the 1940’s, the pointy one, but this one has two main innovations: its tip can deploy an “energy blade” so Cap can cut into things, and the shield can be divided in two, so Steve can use both halves, one with each arm." He then added, "Both modifications will help us see a completely different set of moves for Captain America, moves that we [have] never seen Steve use before, in terms of hand-to-hand combat."

With Captain America: Steve Rogers #1 set to hit the shelves soon, check out the images, then sound off below in the comment section with your thoughts!

Melkaticox - I don't know, it definitely has some influence from Caps MCU suit, specifically The Winter Soldier and Age of Ultron suits. Now it looks like it's going to be influenced by the one he has in Civil War, with the chain mail placement and what not.

So has Cap stolen the Black Knights shield and upcycled it?

they should just use his shield suit. its more combat ready. with all those colors a sniper could pick him off easily. At least he doesn't look like gusto anymore.
