Yeah, the High Evolutionary COULD fit in the MCU if they gave him a better design and a different backstory turning him into something more serious.

Love Wanda's new costume, but I doubt we'll get anything like this for the movie.

AVX awful art. new thor awful art. captain marvel awful art. ms marvel awful art. half of marvels artist today should be out of a job. its a long fall from the 80's and 90's when they had the best in the business, it was hard to find a comic with bad art work.

The writing's not up to scratch, either.Sorry, Remender.
I picked up #1 as an outsider, curious about the new ret-con.
The issue barely even touched on it. All it said was that Magneto wasn't their father and that revelation had already happened, in a previous issue.
Not a strong first issue, at all.
And are they SURE about the whole not being mutants thing? Have they done all the painstaking research that a change like that requires? Are they absolutely sure that there is no contradictory thing about a mutant detector detecting them and therefore definitively identifying them as mutants? Couldn't they have just waited until the reboot to change things?

@ManCalledSting

"I don't like that they are changing the twins from being mutants so it matches up with the movies. I'm betting after Secret Wars we get a soft rebooted, more movie filled 616."

They're still mutants, they're just mixed with something else also. And Magneto isn't there dad. People forget (or don't know) that Magneto just showed up one day and claimed them.

Long story short, the High Evolutionary GAVE baby Wanda and Pietro to Magda Maximoff because he couldn't care for them AND he said "they were special". That's from the fifties or sixties. Magneto comes along later, and thought that because he hooked up with Magda before, they were his. This happens in the eighties.

Loving the art on this series... Even if this particular story only exists to rehash Pietro and Wanda's origin.

Are you sure they're mutants, Darkhaven? I'm thinking they're getting the same treatment as Toro. He turned out to be an Inhuman too.

Why does High Evolutionary always have a handle on his head?
And has anyone ever picked him up by it?

The fact that Marvel is "letting the tail wag the dog" and changing its comics to better suit its movies is just sad. There was nothing wrong with Magneto being their father.

Let me guess, next they're somehow gonna make it that Iron Man made Ultron, thus taking away a pivotal character moment from Hank Pym, just as they are currently with Magneto.

As I recall the original revelation (from The Vision and the Scarlet Witch vol.1 #4), an out-of-costume and cloaked Magneto is traveling near Wundegore and takes refuge from a storm at Bova's cottage. She gets chatty, and shares a story about another refugee seeking shelter from a storm, the pregnant Magda, who was fleeing from a frighteningly powerful man. She stayed long enough to give birth to twins, and then fled for fear that the father would find her and claim the children.

Magneto tears her home apart and demands that she gives up the names of the twins... Wanda and Pietro. He then charges off to the Moon (Vizh and Wanda are there in Attilan so the Inhumans can help rebuild the arm that the Vision amputated in an prior issue) to confront his long lost family. After a brief fight they are convinced to believe that he really is their father.

It's worth noting that Magneto being wrong would make it the second time that there was a false claim to parentage in regards to the twins. The golden age speedster hero the Whizzer believed he was their father, but it turned out that Bova tried to pass off the newly born twins as his after his own wife and child died in childbirth.
