Interesting. I like the child/horror angle for this villain. The original was always a nod to the old gangster films (right down to his name), but in practice, it never really made that much sense (How many good Scarface stories can anyone name?). They could get some good stuff out of this. The birthday party is a good scene.

Don't know about The Ventriloquist being a girl, though. Pervy old man is much much creepier.
