In the last shot, I think Zod is behind the dude with the robotic hand.

Way to make Jor-El look like a Pedo having Lara look so young.

I hate that this series is taking a break from the current storyline, but this looks pretty good.

I'm not digging the black "S" logo on Superman's cape - should have been yellow or not at all!

It seems pretty interesting to me, I have a better feeling emanating from this than when i read Birthright. God I hate that story, Byrne's Man of Steel was in my mind a far far better origin than Birthright.

I love me some Grant Morrison. Doom Patrol was one of my all time favorites.

@champ6 i agree completely there is no reason to have a black S on the cape cents there's no black in the rest of the costume.plus i love the yellow S on the cape.

That's definitely something we can agree on.

That baby looks hugely obese on that cover- almost cartoonishly oversized. Babies often have chubby cheeks, but not THAT fat!

GDSuperguy: I know a few older fans that would VOCIFEROUSLY disagree about the Byrne origin being the 'true' origin of Superman. They prefer the Golden and/or Silver Age version of the character.

Meh, Birthright seemed like it was taking alot from Smallville, a show I have a strong dislike for, and I do not like the Lex Luthor knowing Clark as a teenager story. I believe the main fault with the clark/lex friendship is someone as smart as Luthor would automatically know Superman is Clark Kent if he grew up with him. And even though I disagree with steverogersson on some things I agree I don't like the soul vision thing. The things I liked in the Byrne origin was that Pa Kent helped come up with the Metropolis Clark disguise, which Waid got rid of all together and infact made Pa Kent a little more of an estranged father.

@ steverogersson exactly, Superman was never depicted as godlike in Man of Steel, @ Gdsuperguy he started getting godlike again after Byrne's Man of Steel and the early 90's in fact Byrne actually made him much much weaker than his silver age counterpart in The Man of Steel.
