COMICS: BATMAN #28 Becomes BATMAN #29; Is Harper Row The New NIGHTWING?

Recently, on Twitter, Scott Snyder posted a message to fans announcing that the story for Batman #28 will be pushed back a month. Instead, the #28 slot will serve as a reveal for what is coming in the future of the DC Universe. Read on for more.

NEWS IS: the current BATMAN #28 (the finale of Zero Year - Dark City) will now be BATMAN #29. And a new Batman #28 will come out in its place by me, James Tynion and Dustin Nguyen - a special thank you issue that takes place six months in the future from the present continuity of the DCU, and gives you all sorts of peeks into the craziness planned for 2014.

You can read more on that in the link below. Now what's really curious is that directly after posting that, Snyder tweeted an image of what seems to be Harper Row in a costume resembling the one Dick Grayson used to wear pre-New 52.

Could this be hinting at the future of Harper Row as a member of the Bat-family? And what could this mean for Dick Grayson? Be sure to share your opinions in the comments below.

Odd... I actually like this idea of Harper Row, and looks sweet as "Nightwing" but I hope she gets a different name and Dick stays "Nightwing"

Strange........looks like Millers TDK returns mutant/robin style.

Scotts story telling is really upped the level in comics.

I swear to god if they kill off Dick Grayson/Nightwing, I'm cancelling all of my Bat-books. Hell, I might even cancel all of my DC books at that point.

OR maybe this is simply the new Robin outfit for Batman's new Robin. They wanted something more translatable for film.

If they aren't killing Dick off in Forever Evil, the only other option is that he becomes Batwing (where his face is completely covered). I'd be completely okay with a Robin > Nightwing > Batwing transition, but again - if they kill off Dick Grayson, I'm done with DC comics until the next reboot.

@BatmanHeisenberg, Btw there isn't only one nightwing, if you were a true comic book reader you would know that Dru Zod was also Nightwing and he actually had powers. So... Yea

@ BlueDude

At least with Terry McGuinnes, it was in the future and Bruce literally was just too old to physically continue on as Batman. So at least that makes sense to pass the mantle on to someone else.

This, and a lot of other instances where new people take over a classic mantle are ridiculous.

Maybe Dick will be the Batman of Bludhaven, and instead of a Robin this will be his sidekick........? But seriously, if they kill Dick I will have lost faith in DC.

@duncboy: That's one thing you can rely on with DC; there's always another reboot on the horizon.

Did everyone forget the future of the Bat-Family back in the Thanksgiving poster? Dick Grayson won't die, he's in the picture with blonde hair. He'll just change his identity due to the mishaps with Forever Evil.

why cant nightwing/Dick get his own sidekick. He should get a much bigger arc in the justice league by now. He is clearly one of the more popular characters in DC. If they [frick] with Dick, im done with DC
