OK, first of all, if it's a new world of superheroes, why are there 4 Green Lanterns? They can't all be assigned our sector, right? Also, of all the heroes to join the JLI, Batmn is not the first to spring to mind. He's the least likely to want any kind of public attention, unless people realise he's Bruce Wayne and he's the least powerful.

You guys have not even read any of these new titles and yet your judging it already. Dont judge a comic by its cover. Me im personally excited for this relaunch. It gives me chance to collect the first issues of a brand new era. Just like I did for the Ultimates. Plus the writers that they have penning these issues are fantastic. Grant Morrison is going to go ape shit with his Superman comic. And Geoff Johns and Jim Lee are pure gold when it comes to DC. If you guys are true comic book fans then you would give this a chance. The only downside of this reboot is no Secret Six.

Wonder how much subsidy did DC get from Time Warner by launching so many failure prone books?

Can anybody tell me why they are doing this? I've always made mine marvel so i guess this could be a good starting point to get into DC

I would imagine that I'll be picking up well over 30 titles, and probably dropping 5 or more after the first month. This is a great thing for someone like me (who only has a very basic knowledge of DC) although I can understand why longterm fans are pissed. I know I wouldn't be best pleased if Marvel did the same! Still, I hope they'll find a good balance between old and new, while it looks like they've finally found a way to make Superman worth reading again! :)

The problem is that continuity doesn't make sense anymore. Reverting some characters back to their original roles yet leaving other characters from later generations doesn't add up. Nothing makes sense anymore.

Do they think this will help bring [back] fans? This is why I'll continue to stay away from mainstream comics.

@captainstraps I would just like to remind you of the failure that Marvel has had lately with their stories. May I remind you of Necrosha... blatant DC ripoff that was in all honesty a terrible x-men story that needs to be forgotten. Seige, Bendis' big end-all was just 4 issues that ultimately culminated in the death of the sentry and everything back the way it was when he started disassembled. I've been a big X-men and FF fan for most of my life but I've found myself more of a DC fanboy in recent years and in all honesty DC has been way better than Marvel for awhile now. OOO another one comes to mind... ultimatum... I was so pumped for that and I was so pissed at the end. I understand that the Ultimate universe wasn't supposed to be around as long as it has been but that was a giant middle finger to fans. This reboot is a great idea and there is no reason it should be put down. @Cable23 has said it perfectly. DC has given comic fans fantastic stories for years now, we should be trusting their decisions and choices rather than putting them down.

anything written by grant Morrison i ignore because where ever he goes he screws things up,he made batman uncool and boring and im sure he will do something stupid to superman as well.(loeb, dini, moench wrote batman/bruce in a kick ass way)

but anyway now that things are back to normal (bruce is the only batman) i will be reading all batman comics

batman #1,
detective comics #1
batman dark knight #1
and maybe even batman and robin #1 despite the presence of robin/Damien
aquaman #1
flash #1
and green lantern #1 (only if Hal Jordan is in it,im not interested in any other GL)
green arrow #1
teen titans#1 looks cool so might give it a shot
new hex#1 looks cool, love the character so might give it a shot too
justice league #1 (big fan of the classic JL and the cool real batman/bruce is back)
and JL international#1 most probably because of batman/bruce

that's about it for me :) really excited :) n thankful for bringing everything back to normal regarding batman :)

Its a lot of young people on this site who are just going to say Marvel is the best because the have the most movies. I can understand that you may like Marvel more because during the 90's they had some great stories and the art style back then was superb. But at the same time dont go on to say DC is inferior to Marvel. Action Comics kicked off the comic generation. Superman paved the way for Batman, Spiderman, Captain America and so on. So really DC deserves some respect. And most of the people on this site can not even get a legitamite reason why DC sucks.
JBM
JBM - 6/10/2011, 6:59 PM
we need an aquaman movie, love silver and golden age comics, but most comics suck nowadays, except horror
darknight22
darknight22 - 6/10/2011, 7:00 PM
I think this is a genius move on DC, because it seems to me that some of their stories are great and fantastic, its just that they want to start fresh instead of dragging along these stories. This will give a chance for new fresh stories for the fans to read about, and I'm a huge batman fan, so I can't wait for new things they will bring in his way.

And the only other thing is that Marvel isn't so perfect, look at some of their past movies that they screwed up on and how many times they are re-making them. I mean thats why DC stopped making movies for awhile after how many Batman movies they were going through, now they are slowly making sure that put out movies that the DC fans will enjoy.

@Intruder I do respect your opinon. And I in no way said that DC is better. I said that this whole DC sucks bombarde on this site is ridiculous. If you read my previous posts I said it is no problem at all that you may like Marvel more than DC just respect the people who do like DC more.
IonGL2814
IonGL2814 - 6/10/2011, 7:11 PM
@Intruder DC has much better book to book continuity then Marvel has in awhile. The one book they have that has great continuity is X-Men. Explain to me how Wolverine is living on Utopia AND in New York with the Avengers. DC sticks to their continuity much better than Marvel so your claim is moot. No disrespect but have you read anything DC in the past few years. Please listen to @Cable23 because he has been the most level-headed on this thread
cable23
cable23 - 6/10/2011, 7:18 PM
@IonGL2814 The reason they Wolverine is able to do that is beause it takes place between diferent times. Just like Spiderman is able to be in the Avengers and be able to have his own series.

@CaptainStraps Once again your stupidity shines a great light on this site. You really have been a good boyscout and really earned your troll badges. Your points are invalid and so pointless. I even question myself for commenting on your comment. And why must all your letters be in bold, we can hear you unfortunatley. And by the way Im not a DC or a Marvel fanboy Im am a COMICBOOK FANBOY. I dont discriminate each publisher.

For the most part these all look ridiculous. I'll check out Batgirl and Action Comics. It looks like they completely effed Birds of Prey so I'll be dropping that and Wonder Woman I dropped months ago. It's been a dark month for DC fans.

@Intruder, Straps and the other Marvel die hards.....what the F*uck are you guys even doing reading this article with all the sh*t you talk? Seriously.
cable23
cable23 - 6/10/2011, 7:38 PM
@CaptainStraps Wow you actually spelled "pfft", bravo on that. I dont think your right. The real question is who would not want to go see a Hawkman or Blue Beetle movie. Hawkman has an amazing myhtology spaning back to ancient Egypt and Ted Kord Blue Beetle was very impressive back in the day. And to answer your question who would watch a movie about a teenager who has spider powers who calls himself Spiderman. Why? Because comics are not real and they are great entertainment. Your bringing comics into realism which is making you look stupid and a 11 year old child. And like I have been saying your the only one who is making theirself look like an idiot.

@Gaston I agree I have been going back and forth against people who are just dedicated on seeing this relaunch fail because of their own personal endeavors. Besides Im going to see Xmen First Class tonight.
