I like how it's seemingly inspired by the 60's Batman show Batmobile, just like Alex Ross's character designs :)

Multiverse ?!

If you could just explain it to me (from DC point of view)
Wikipedia article is too long.

@indigobolt956

I know what multiverse is. I even know what parallel universes are :) (watched Sliders a lot)

I just want to know what's are the biggest differences between those 52 universes DC is having right now.

(hope i didn't make it more confusing)

I think it's funny that DC rebooted it's comics to make it more streamlined and it took them less than a year to introduce alternate universes and re-complicate things for anyone slightly interested in what they're doing.

Seems like a pretty stupid move, business-wise. Earth-2 stuff intrigues me thought, I have to admit. I like the idea of a universe without the normal flagship characters. Although introducing Batman kind of negates that...

Who's under the cowl? John Blake? Dick Grayson? Jason Todd?!

ZombieOverEasy@ They didn't just suddenly decide to have alternate universes... oh vay....
Okay, I'll break it down.
In the Golden Age, DCs main universe (or canon) was Earth 2.
Then in the Silver Age their main canon was Earth 1.
All the while they had alternate universes, like Marvel does, to an infinite degree.
Then in 1985 (in Crisis) they merged ALL the universes into one.
Then in 2005 (in Infinite Crisis) they split that one into 52, with Earth 0 being the canon Earth.
Then in 2011 (in Flashpoint) the Earth 0 was merged with Earths 13 and 50. Since Earth 0 was the anchor to the 52 multiverse, these changes have had a knock on effect, creating a new 52-universe multiverse (The New 52).
Earth One seems to be unaffected by the Flashpoint (probably because it was magically recreated by Earth 0's Trinity) and the new canon Earth made out of the old Earths O, 13 and 50 does not yet have a designation (It's probably still Earth 0, but it could just as easily be renamed Earth 52).
Aside from that last paragraph, that's the simplest way I can see to explain the history of DC's multiverse.

@DukeAcreds,
Nice explanation. I am a fan of the multiverse, and have never been confused by it. Any book that was of one of the other Earths, say Earth 2 always opened with a paragraph explaining that it was an alternate earth. I find that the multiverse leads to better stories and it makes things more interesting.

I love the people who are getting April Fool's confused with things that are (1) actually true and (2) things that have actually happened.

How do people actually believe this is an April Fools day joke? Cant wait for the new Batman, hope it's Dick Grayson. Also Atom leading a new team of heroes? Cant wait to find out whos on that team! Earth 2 keeps getting better & better!

Alas Jerry, when life was less complicated, there were an infinite number of multiple Earths and they knew how to have fun with 'em. Those were the days....
