@ mk

Ultraman is from another dimension or Earth 3 in DC. He is the exact opposite of Superman in values etc..... Same goes or Flash, GL, etc...... Great story lines.

That dialog was over the top.
The writer needs to look up the word "subtle".
You can give Ultraman valid reasons for being the way he is with out the one dimensional child abuse by the parents and their cartoon like personalities.
Came off like an SNL skit with Will Farrell.

Wonder what Ma and Pa Kent are like.

Ultra man was the shitz back in the day! So was Giant Robot......... A bit before my time but still liked them.

@Spartan

I don't think he was going for subtlety. Besides Ultraman and everyone here is like ubber evil and it makes sense they'd come off as over the top because thats their personalities.
TheFox

This is hilarious! But honestly, I love the fact that it's so over-the-top.

Think about it: an entire world where EVERYONE is moustache-twirlingly evil? The concept in and of itself is ludicrous... so why not have some fun with it?

I can't wait to read this issue. I love the pure, pulpy goofiness (mixed with just the right amount of genuine menace) of the Crime Syndicate, and I'm loving how this crossover is turning out!

I agree dude, a universe inhabited by cliché assholes would be over the top!
CaptainObvious

Who the hell talks like this? Why is everybody on this planet an asshole? Why are all these characters so devoid of humanity? And don't say it's because they're aliens because shut up.
ekrolo2
ekrolo2 - 10/17/2013, 2:04 PM
@CaptainObvious

Because they're from Earth 3 a universe where everyone is an evil asshole. Its even called the birthplace of evil.
CaptainObvious
CaptainObvious - 10/17/2013, 2:11 PM
@ekrolo2- Because that's how morality works. Deep down everybody just wants to be an unsuccessful, by-the-numbers James Bond villain.

I actually thought these people who have some resemblance of humanity. But no, it's just they are evil and nothing else.
ekrolo2
ekrolo2 - 10/17/2013, 2:14 PM
@CaptainObvious

You want to have logic in an alternate universe where everyone is inherently evil? Isn't the point of an AU that the rules of one universe don't apply to another? It was explored in the Trinity series that for them being evil, immoral people is perfectly natural.

Its perfectly normal there to be a serial killer but its weird to be some one like Ned Flanders from the Simspons, kind of a shitty example but thats all I got.

I don't get the last page... I mean, are they evil or just plain bad parents!?
Spartan
Spartan - 10/17/2013, 2:22 PM
Villainy comes across better and gives the bad guy and eventually the hero more gravitas if it's not put forth in such a ham handed way.
