i only read green lantern,the flash,brightest day & whatever the big event story is i.e 52,infinite crisis,blackest night,final crisis & so on i don't bother with all the crossovers.

Dont people get tired of the age old "Marvel or DC" Question?

I mean, they both have great characters. And they both hire the exact same writers and even artists at any given time.

There is NO answer to this question because it's all a matter of personal preference.

Buuut, for the sake of conversation:
Q: Which one is better, DC or Marvel?
A: The one YOU like the most. Period.

From my personal experience, Marvel on average makes better comics. However, DC's best comics are far, far better than Marvel's best comics. I honestly can't think of a Marvel comic or graphic novel that is on the same level with Watchmen or The Dark Knight Returns.

That being said, DC makes a lot more shit than Marvel does.

Nice article but these DCvsMarvel polls are ridiculous. All this does is give bith Marvel and DC fanboys to participate in a stupid dick swinging contest. I like both at the moment so Im a happy camper.

Is it possible that I can say BOTH or Dark Horse comics. I mean I'm not really a big fan of either Marvel or DC, there as great as each other. But if you want a really good opinion and if you've gone passed it, itbegins2005 has a beautiful explanation.

@itbegins2005- As always, your comments are eloquent and thoughtful. After all of the negativity I read on this site, it's always nice to hear what you have to say. If more people made comments like yours, this site would be much more friendly and civil.

That being said, it's also quite refreshing to read everyone else's comments taking a stand against this silly, arbitrary, imaginary war of "Marvel vs. DC." When I first joined this site 2 or 3 years ago (can't remember if it was '08 or '09), most of the people here were just, like myself, COMIC BOOK FANS! I get it people like one company better than the other, but I also find it really hard to believe that someone would just completely write off an entire company's characters. Not for nothing, but my comic collection includes, besides the "Big Two", books from Darkhorse, Image, Oni Press, Slave Labor Graphics, Antarctic Press, and many, many others. You know why? because I am a COMIC BOOK FAN! Anyone who purposefully denies themselves variety is only doing a disservice to themselves.

The competition keeps getting out of hand. Seems like Gulliver's Travels when the folks would fight over which end of the hardboiled egg to cut.

Pretty close poll. I voted Marvel, they are much more diverse and they don't have any lame characters like Aquaman or the Flash in their A-list. That said, Marvel hasn't even come close to matching Chris Nolan's Batman movies so DC gets the point there.

I won't vote on this, but I can definately weigh in. In MY opinion, DC has always had better crafted stories and their titles, Batman especially, always draw the most talented artists. However, Marvel has become the most accessible and familiar because of the number of films put out based on thier work. Readers can also relate a little better to Marvel's characters because of Stan Lee's work to make the characters more human. Nonetheless, I'm a DC man because I prefer quality over quantity. Though, what DC has been doing recently seems to be going south.
