Statick Shock #1 goes on sale September 7, 2011 written by Scott McDaniel and John Rozum with art by Scott McDaniel and Jonathan Glapion and LeBeau Underwood.

The brilliant, slightly awkward high school student Virgil Hawkins transforms into the cocky electromagnetic hero Static!

A mysterious tragedy forces the Hawkins family to relocate from Dakota to New York City! Virgil embarks upon new adventures in a new high school and a new internship at S.T.A.R. Labs!

As Static, he dons a new uniform and establishes a new secret headquarters! But is he ready to take on the new villains who lurk in New York City's underworld?

i kinda dont dig,the tights on superhero'es the more practical tactical look is way better,if i was a superhero the only reason id wear tights would be to show off my package,and i really dont think that is appreciate during a fight with a super villain unless its a girl

Instead of making trailers for each title, why don't they make one trailer for each of the seven comic lines? One for the Batman line, one for the Green Lantern line, one for the Justice League line, one for the Superman line, one for the Young Justice line, one for the Edge line, and one for the Dark line.

Im glad he finally made it into DC comics, but i hate what theyve done with him in this revamp. And whats with his new "ride".

I don' really like the new costume. This one was pretty cool.



I'd go for something like this with a shorty jacket like Mr. Terrific's. Anyway, I might check this out. I enjoyed the animated series, but I've never really read Static comics.

im sorry but static is good addition to the d.c. universe i only watched the justice leauge episodes and shows but he wasnt bad. Id rather see static then see some one turn a character that is already a certain race into an african american to try to reach those viewers.

The only comics i wish to get canceled from all this relaunch DC crap it's the justice league. I hate Hal jordan to the core and aquaman is way too much of a bore for me. And to think they were this close to make a movie with them. Thank God that shit failed.

Neg: the trench coat look is so Gambit and the 1990's.

Pos: There aren't enough interesting heroes of color. I thought the cartoon was great. Why? It was well aimed and very positive. The creators were smart and grew Virgil and adjusted the over all concept as Justice League members started making cameos.
