UPDATE: COMICS: Harper Row Features In BATMAN #18; Will She Be The New Robin?

As I'm sure you are all aware by now, Batman lost his son Damien back in Batman Incorporated #8. Since that fans have been speculating as to who might replace him as Robin - could we have a GIRL Wonder in Harper Row? Check out a 4 page preview of Batman #18..

Since Damien's death fan shave brought up Harper Row's name. She's a creation of Scott Snyder's - a poor high school girl who's also an underground worker in Gotham City's electrical grid. In addition to the above preview, Today News also have an interview with Snyder, and although he's happy to discuss Row, all he'll say when asked outright if she'll become Robin is:

"She's definitely a really important character. She's a character that means a lot to me personally, and we definitely have plans for her in Gotham."


UPDATE: Here is the cover to Detective Comics #21, the solicitation of which says that Batman teams up with Harper Row - and as you can see, she ain't wearing a Robin outfit! But it seems clear she WILL be the Caped Crusader's new sidekick at least.

Who ever it is, it won't be for a while until there is a new robin. Damien was his son and Bruce really cared for him. This is going to be harder for him then when Jason died. I have a feeling Bruce is going to go off the deep end.

The Robin will be the clone that killed him, and Bruce will have to struggle with hurting him because technically he is his son too.

I hope not, to me robin is a male character. Robin is a character that can become batMAN. Otherwise it's a Batgirl/Batwoman situation. I'd rather have a new oracle. I see no reason why Tim Drake would just return to being Robin. I would think Bruce would rather have a trained Robin over a newbie.

Tim Drake IS and will ALWAYS BE THE single best Robin Ever... anyone else just sucks.

I kinda hate Morrison for introducing that brat Damian in the first place. It's why they kicked Tim to the curb.

Tim won't leave the Titans to go back to Gotham. I think she should be the new Oracle and have Batman fly solo for a while, i mean he did just lose his own son.

It's way too early to even hint at a new Robin.After the "death" of Jason Todd and now Damian Batman has entirely too much guilt and grief to deal with.It would be unbelievable to have him take on a new partner. Alternate team ups with the previous Robin's in Batman and Robin but hold off on a new replacement.The hardest part of the Batman mythos for me is how a man such as Bruce Wayne would allow and encourage juveniles to continually risk and lose their lives in his fight. How would Commissioner Gordon condone such action and continue to ally himself with Batman not to mention his fellow leaguers.

You know what, I don't really mind Harper Row. She's kinda lame with her blue hair and her homosexual brother (I mean, I don't care about his sexuality but they really need to shove it down our throat don't they?), but she's not your typical ''streetwise'' girl.

I'd love Tim Drake to come back though, I mean they really (thanks in part to sir Scott Lobdell) destroyed this character. Tim Drake is someone that was seen by Bruce himself as a potential Batman. A better Batman. He used to be DC's teenage Spider-Man (more than Nightwing. His life was shit, but he'd sometime laugh about it and make fun of vilains. Now he's just lame and no words can describe the atrocity that is his costume. Seriously. I don't know how we can go from the awesome Alex Ross designed suit to this mess and think ''Well, that's an improvement!''. SMH.

Harper Row would be the third female Robin. Her suit makes her like she should be Catwoman's sidekick. Not Batman's.
