...here's a few excerpts.

"Nrama: Well, what are some comics you’re reading and/or enjoying right now? Your fans might be encouraged to pick some of them up.

Hodgman: Well, right now, it’s not really what I’m enjoying, it’s what I’m not enjoying.

Nrama: Oh dear...

Hodgman: Let me say this: I’m really enjoying Men of War by Ivan Brandon at the New 52. I think Brandon’s a terrific writer, and I’m really getting into that. There’re some really great comic book writers working today who are producing work on par with the best in any serialized medium – film, television, novels..."

"...The New 52 thing – again, not to paint everyone with the same brush, I think Wonder Woman is great, I think Cliff Chiang is terrific – but to me, they seem to have distilled everything that I had come to really dislike about superhero comics."

"...As I say, I don’t want to mean about all these books. I just don’t understand why Rob Liefeld on Hawk and Dove... he’s not my cup of tea. I don’t understand how he’s allowed to continue to draw things. My brain cannot process these impossible figures that are considered to be appealing by other people."

I [frick]ing hated DC's New 52 #1 of Wonder Woman. Couldn't stand it. The art really let me down also. The penciling is probably fine on it's own, but that goddamn gritty ink style disgusts me. The bland and stale coloring doesn't help it either. I mean, the cover art is lush & clean, why the [frick] wouldn't it be the same inside. And i wouldn't willingly give Rob's art a glance to save my life.

Agreed Shaman. There are many good books in the new 52... Batman, Detective Comics, Superman, Aquaman and Flash are a few but the new Wonder Woman book was crap.

I gotta agree with this man about the new 52 not exactly being new reader friendly. They rebooted the Superman family and Teen Titans but leave convoluted stuff like Hawkman intact?

At least with the Ultimate universe everything was new and happening concurrently. While I am enjoying a decent amount of the books I feel DC should have just made a seperate universe like Marvel, after all what was the point of Earth One.
