COMICS: DOOMSDAY CLOCK Release Date Revealed; Geoff Johns Teases Watchmen And DC Villain Interactions
"Who Watches The Watchmen?" - Writer Geoff Johns teases the highly-anticipated Watchmen/DC crossover Doomsday Clock with mysterious panels, and two fan-favorite characters finally meeting face-to-face!
The first issue of Geoff Johns and Gary Frank's highly-anticipated series Doomsday Clock will be with us this year November 22, with its finale in December 2018! Doomsday Clock will be a 12 issue run and will jump ahead one year from the current DC Comics timeline in order to give the various other DC series enough time to catch up to the events of the Watchmen/DC crossover.
During today's DC Comics panel at San Diego Comic-Con, writer Geoff Johns described the series as "a story for our time that brings the greatest heroes and villains from the DC Universe together with the mysterious forces from the Watchmen Universe." He then went on to showcase a few inked panels drawn by artist Gary Frank. However, the biggest piece of news from Johns was the teasing of a Watchmen meet up with one of DC's greatest villains.
Johns revealed that Doomsday Clock will have the Watchmen Universe's smartest man, Adrian Veidt, aka Ozymandias, having a face-to-face with DC Comic's smartest man, Lex Luthor. The two greatest minds in comic book history are finally coming together. What does this mean for Doctor Manhattan and Superman? We'll just have to wait and see.
You can check out Gary Frank's panels below. Don't forget to let us know what you think in the usual place!
