Dark Skies actor Jake Brennan, who also appeared in one episode (FZZT) of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been cast as the richest kid in the world in Netflix's new half-hour comedy series, Richie Rich. The show will debut in 2015 and will be produced by Awesomeness TV.
On this adaptation of the 1980s cartoon based on a comic from the 1950s, Richie has made a trillion dollars from inventing and selling a cool new green technology. After Richie moves into a decked out mansion and instantly starts living the most awesome life ever, the show will cover his adventures with his friends.

Series will also star Joshua Carlon, Jenna Ortega, Lauren Taylor, Kiff VandenHeuvel (“Star Trek Into Darkness”) and Brooke Wexler.

The first time the character was presented in a live-action format was the 1994 film that starred Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin. It didn't do well at the box office, only pulling in $38M, but $125M in home rentals made it a late-success
Superstar Macaulay Culkin ("Home Alone" 1 & 2) and four-time Emmy Award-winner John Larroquette ("Night Court," "The John Larroquette Show") star in this live action adaptation of the comic book adventures of an extremely rich boy and his efforts to do good in the world. The Hollywood Reporter calls this a "breezy caper...very much in the "Home Alone" mode.
