Hello ComicBookMovie Community! Hope you've all been having a great time. Well, enough small talk, you're here to know which are the best actions scene from each film in Marvel Studios phase one.  Well, the best of phase one in my opinion. So enough with the introduction. Lets get started!

Iron Man To The Rescue - Iron Man (2008)

Iron Man is filled with greatness, but the action scenes, for the most part, were pretty disappointing. This action scene in paticular though is awesome! From the very beginning to the very end. The sequence of events that occur are so natural and show off what Iron Man is capabale of. When he lays a beating to the Ten Rings and leaves the leader to the villagers, to when he gets knocked down by the tank and blows it up, to the chase scene with both military jets. This scene is just perfect to introduce the audience to Iron Man's abilities.

Hulk Vs The Army - The Incredible Hulk (2008)

The Incredible Hulk is filled with some really great action scenes, but the epic battle between Hulk and The Army is possibly one of my most favorite action scenes in the entire phase one line up. It's intense, powerful, raw, and the pace doesn't let up. When you see him bust through the glass and roar you know you're in for quite a ride and it is. The climax of the fight ends with Bolonski battling Hulk and just dodging him completely was just so well done it made me want more.

Monaco Battle - Iron Man 2 (2010)

This was the best action scene from Iron Man 2. Ivan Vanko comes from nowhere and just starts recking everything in front of him to get to his goal. Tony then needs to manage to not get killed while Pepper and Happy are getting the suit to him. The scene introduces Whiplash as a serious threat, sadly the rest of the film diminishes this, to Iron Man. Tony eventually gets his suitcase which transforms into his Mark IV(?) suit and Tony is still getting his asshanded until he firgures out a way to take Vanko down.

Jotunheim - Thor (2011)

I think it's safe to agree that Thor couldn't make lightning strike twice as the fight with the Destroyer was disappointing and the film's first action scene was its best. Thor is just completely overpowering all his opponents and when he call a lightning strike which creates a ripple is just so epic! The scene establishes Thor as possibly the most powerful Marvel character. The scope of the scene is huge as The Warriors Three, Lady Sif and Loki run from what appears to be a collapsing bridge and some minotaur looking thing. It's just great.

Storming Hydra - Captain America: The First Avenger (2011)

Watching Cap storm the hyrda base near the film's climax was awesome. From the chase scene to the way Cap would just overpower each Hydra soldier that came his way. The scene was entertaining, even though he gets captured in the end, but that was part of the plan.

Battle For New York - The Avengers (2012)

Possible the best action scene of all of phase one. It was everything I wanted to see and more. From the circle shot showing off all the members, down to the last moment. This action scene had everything. Showing all the heroes strengths then combing some of them like the moment in the gif above. It's just spectacular.

So do you all agree? Is there one you would change? If there is let me know in the comments below!

I'd say that Tony and Rhodey teaming up at the end of Iron Man 2 deserves an honorable mention...but it's disappointing that the fight between them and Vanko was such a dud. Say what you want about Iron Man 3, but at least it improved on Iron Man and Iron Man 2's lackluster finales, IMO.

Great list!

@SauronsBANE

I enjoyed it for the most part, but the Vanko fight was just complete rubbish for me that it really destroys any build up to the boss fight the team up battle creates.

Man, I wish they had stuck with the powerful Thor from the first Thor movie instead of the nerfed punching bag we got in Avengers and The Dark World. I really hope Marvel is gonna show us Thor's rage in the upcoming movies, and I mean real super saiyan level shit with MASSIVE AMOUNTS of lightning and thunder and DESTRUCTION. I want them to make him everyone's favorite avenger.

I know that he's supposed to "hold back" because he's a hero, but does that mean you have to make him a BITCH!!? All I'm asking for is a few scenes (or just one, really), where we see what The Odinson is truly capable of. Hulk may be slightly stronger PHYSICALLY, but Thor certainly is the most POWERFUL avenger.

I also want them to STOP trying to show how powerful the villains are by making them beat up Thor! He is the MIGHTY THOR for crying out loud! I hope they'll rectify these errors in Ragnarok. Just turn up his badass-factor once in a while, and I'll be happy.

End of rant.

Hulk vs Abomination was a true comic book fight. That's probably my favorite

@MaximusTheMad

My exact feelings, I couldn't agree more. Like where is all of his power from the first Thor movie.

I would change to Hulk vs Abomination. He used sonic clap, shock wave.

Incredible Hulk: Hulk vs Abomination is Incredible, Hulk Smash! Best fight scene for Phase 1 period.

Thor: Thor vs the frost giants is how Thor should always fight, like a god. His action sequence breaking into the SHIELD "base" to retrieve his hammer was bad ass to. Your big, I've fought bigger.

First Avenger: Cap vs Hydra End Battle. For me Cap had his best showcase, in this film, when he was trying to stop Red Skulls final plane. Him battling the Hydra agents in the mini planes was awesome.

Iron Man: Stark escaping the cave is my favorite action scene in that film. Stark trying to escape the jets is great too.

Iron Man 2: Black Widow and Happy Hogan storming Hammers facility is my favorite. Widows fighting style is perfect, and Happy adds humor to the sexy ass whooping.

Avengers Assemble: We all know the battle for New York is the best. I just want to give love to the fight scene that was not included in the film. It was a deleted scene with a lot of Widow and Hawkeye battling. The cgi was not even completed.

Great article, really fun to think about the action of Marvel Phase 1.

Good list, I would only change Iron man 2 for the final battle with the Hammer roids. Maybe the fight with Vanko was dissapointing but that whole sequence is still amazing

@ipitythefool His list is phase 1 only, I am sure he will be treating us with a phase 2 list at some point, tough to do since we still Age of Ultron and Ant-Man coming.

@MaximusTheMad and @Barkells Thor might take alot of bearings from the films hes been in so far but, the first Thor film taught him humilty and control (although a bit rushed) like in Thor 1 he just went running to the frost giants world went he wasnt sure if was them and against his father's wisdom he wrecked the shit out of everything in his path because, he was over confident and cocky. So hes sent to Earth where he sees that the "mortals" can teach him a thing or two about how to handle a situation when you're not powerful being like himself they still put their lives on the line for the greater good with organisations like SHIELD and possibly hearing about the other heroes (as he doesnt seem surprised when he meets them in the Avengers)

Now skip to The Avengers with the first meeting of the big 3 avengers and him getting seemingly tossed around by Iron man can be explained in that Thor was only there to get his brother back who even though was a vilain he mourned his "death" in Thor so he's happy to see so he wants to bring him home... then boom out of nowhere Iron man crashes the party and attacks thor which although phases him slightly doesnt hurt thor in the slightest he tries to get Iron man back but like a pesky bug flies around him annoying him Thor just wants damage his suit enough to stop him he likely knows of Iron man and he does so without even trying he probably would have hospitalised him if Cap didnt stop the fight. In the end fight Thor is the only avenger to never be overwhelmed or have any problems against the rest of the avengers like the mortal avengers hell even Hulk has trouble who was getting a few hits on thor in their earlier fight (which Thor also wanted to end by stopping and not killing hulk because he was trying to help Banner regain control)

The only time Thor had any physical trouble in TDW was when fighting Kurse who was Amped up by an infinity gem hell even Malkeith who had all of the infinity gem got wrecked by Thor pretty easily where he almost single handely saved the 9 realms.

Nope, don't put Iron Man 2 on this list. That was just awful from beginning to end, but I agree with the Hulk and Thor scenes.

Marvel did action better in Phase 2

superotherside - 11/14/2014, 9:29 AM
Thor 2's action was creative but Thor was really downplayed in power. It's sad too cause I really wanted them to show how powerful he was.

He really needs his "Winter Soldier" movie.

Ace101 - 11/14/2014, 10:47 PM
@MaximusTheMad
Thor was in fact still powerful in the Avengers and Thor:TDW and according to the scene where thor visits loki in prison he was still holding back. He went hand to hand with the hulk, smacked around IM like he was nothing, we saw him take out several leviathans, he took on a infinity gem powered malekeith and fought kurse who is extremely powerful. But yes i want to see more of his skill set, purest white lighting attack, god blast, maelstroms etc etc.

Ace101 - 11/14/2014, 10:52 PM
My top 5 in no particular order:
Hulk vs Abomination
Thor vs jotuns
Iron Man to the Rescue
Battle for New York
Caps attack on Hydra base/ Thor vs Destroyer Armor.

Ace101
Ace101 - 11/14/2014, 10:53 PM
Oh and iron man and war machines fight against the drones can be tidd with thor vs Destroyer Armor and caps assault on Hydra base.
Ace101
Ace101 - 11/14/2014, 10:57 PM
@superotherside the problem I have is that they haven't really given thor a prolonged battle with someone of equal or greater strength. They totally botched that up with kurse and having him be killed by loki and over powering thor from the get go.
superotherside
superotherside - 11/15/2014, 6:04 AM
@Ace101 Agreed.

@Dandy You make a good point. But there are some things they could have done better in Thor 2. Like: Made Kurse and him fight for longer and be more on equal strength.

When Malekith is in the tornado type dark energy thing instead of throwing some tripods at him (essentially making the geeks defeat him) have them tell Thor that he has to have a physical host to care the dark energy and if he kills Malekith it'll dissipate the dark energy.

Thor uses the lighting from Earth to try to kill him but it's not strong enough. Just at the last moment, Thor uses the lighting from all the 9 realms which are open and kills Malekith.

Ta da. Already a 10X better movie. It wasn't a bad movie, but it wasn't great either.

And Thor deserves a great movie. Besides, if you level up the power they are fighting no one's going to question why Thor is there.

I am a bit late to the party, and I may have said this before in other places, but the end of Avengers battle was just t!ts. That gif was my favorite part. There was this guy next to me that I had never met, and when Iron Man blasts Cap's shield, we looked at each other for a sec in amazement at what we had just seen, and without thinking about it, high-fived right then and there. So much fun to watch that movie. By far not the best movie, nor even the best comic book movie, but for me, the most enjoyable. True,y felt like comic book action jumping right off the page. Only thing that would have made that sequence more legit is if they had sound-effect text right there on the screen.

Tony Stark murdered people in the first scene. Kids lost their fathers during that scene. Wives lost their husbands. Maybe even some husbands lost their husbands, not that there's anything wrong with that.
