COMICS: Centenary issue of NOVA raises major questions over the future of the Corpsman

The current Marvel Now's Nova has been seen by many as a lacklustre attempt at carrying on Richard Riders legacy. Is Nova #100 the beginning of the end for Sam Alexander?

It's safe to say that Marvel Now's Nova hasn't gone down well with some of the Novacorp's long time fans, largely down to the protagonist, Sam Alexander.

However, this week's Nova #10 (the 100th Nova book since 1976) raises a few questions about Sam Alexander's future. Are Marvel preparing for a large change in the future of Nova?
It seems so...

By people who haven't read it, maybe. It's a really good book.

This series has been a good read. The ppl complaining about this is like the ones complaining about Superior Spider-Man... their opinions holds no weight

No. They havent.

It's a good book in terms of a new book about a new character. It's got good art, good supporting cast and character interaction and an amusing storyline.

However, Sam Alexander's origin and character is less than memorable, and the complete neglect of The Thanos Imperative is impossible to get past as a fan of the REAL Nova and the grand legacy thats been carved out by DnA. If Marvel is going to use a pre-established name, they should honor the past, otherwise why not just give a new codename, outfit and powerset? Is it really that hard to make something fresh accessible to those who've actually given a damn and given support over the years?

I used to love Marvel, but I refuse to give them a penny at this point with their quantity over quality approach.

^^ Yeah. Asking his mom if he can join the avengers is good storytelling as well as Rocket Raccoon pointing a gun in a 15 year old's face to force him to be a Nova.

lmao.

I've read both, Richard Rider is waaaaaay better. Though, I like the idea of the black helmets. I wouldn't mind if the NOVA series followed both, with Rick maybe teaching Sam how to be a Nova, as his attempts are horrible as of now.

I don't like Alexander. I don't like the idea of him being the only Corpsman, even Rider set up a new Corps after the destruction of the old one. His suit makes no sense too. It combines the suits of three different ranks and it looks horrible.
