COMICS: DEADPOOL #35 Reveals Some Surprising New Details About SECRET EMPIRE Fallout

Secret Empire #10 featured the return of Steve Rogers but fans were left with a very long list of frustrating and confusing unanswered question. Well, Deadpool #35 has answered at least some of those...

Secret Empire #10 featured the return of Steve Rogers after he was reformed by Kobik, the living Cosmic Cube. However, the Steve loyal to Hydra is actually the original Captain America, albeit with a new set of memories. As a result, there's a lot of debate in regards to whether or not the Cap who returned can really be considered the real deal and if the two will somehow be merged down the line.

What we do know is that Mark Waid's new Captain America series will make little mention of the events of Secret Empire and that it will feature a Steve journeying across America to make amends.

Well, Deadpool #35 has offered some insight into what comes next (before the events of Secret Empire: Omega anyway) and it confirms that HydraCap has been taken into custody and that the world has accepted the returning Steve as the real deal who can be easily forgiven as it was his doppelganger who turned America into a war zone. Will HydraCap remain in custody and return somewhere down the line to play Captain America? That remains to be seen but definitely now looks somewhat likely.

What do you guys think? As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts down in the usual place.

Must be so confusing to be a citizen in the dc or marvel universe.

@CipherGuard - I was hoping for something in the Powerless show to illustrate that. Just what life must be like as a regular person in this world.

Out of all the great comics out there we could be talking about, or lesser known titles people could be recommended, what's the monthly obsession with Secret Empire? Not that it's bad, I just don't understand why it is the one that gets a cover of every single issue.

The TV image in the last panel is a cool homage to Sal Buscema

@Armpitwebs -
It all reminded me of the same art style. Glad to know we have some actual comic book fans on this site.

I kept my fingers crossed, hoping that the final cosmic cube battle would restore some of Marvel's lost glory. But sadly, no. It just magiced everything right back to its terrible state before this Hydra Steve story began. Talk about missed opportunities.
The worst part was building up the importance of standing and fighting together, and then just abandoning that idea as all the Avengers and Xmen and Champions just stand back and watch Cap fight Cap. I guess this was my Marvel swan song. I can't waste any more money on books that don't entertain. I'm turning in my Marvel Zombie card.

These details are the very opposite of "Surprising".

Also Captain America is not the "First Avenger" in the comics. He's the sixth. Doesn't sound as good, though; Captain America: The Sixth Avenger.

@GwenLantern - Many consider Cap the first Avenger since he was created/heroing first. Semantics i know.

The deadpool secret empire tie-in issues were really good.

Regardless of your stance on the quality of Secret Empire it a giant let down that in the end everything was just magic'd away and any consequences or ramification of everything that happened has pretty much been swept under the rug.
