That cover is so brutal. I might have to start picking up ASM issues again ever since One More Day I stopped. Man, ASM was my favorite series since I was a kid.

@TonyChu- I did too. And then I read some of "Big Time" and I've been hooked ever since. I've picked up the whole run from "Big Time" to "Spider Island" with "Ends of the Earth" coming next. Also picked up the Venom trade. good stuff all around!!

@RTRDOnslaught-I read the same thing you did. You're 100% correct. It was the studio's pressure on Raimi that made him include Venom. It was originally just the Sandman and I think maybe the Green Goblin, JR. But, also, from what I've read, the reason he didn't get to continue with the series (and I've heard and read many reasons but this one seems pretty prevalent)Is that Raimi wanted SpiderMan 4 to feature The Vulture and The Vulturess (?!?) as the villians! All of the fans were SCREAMING for The Lizard but Raimi was being steadfast and holding out for HIS favorites.

Don't get me wrong, I love Raimi's work and have seen everything he's put to cinema, BUT, he IS, sometimes, really thinking about himself. Hell, he's even admitted it when he's said, and I'm paraphrasing, that he makes the movies HE'D like to see. Not so much what the majority of the fans want to see.

I don't know...I might be wrong, and if I am, I can certainly take the critism (albeit if I'm slapped POLITELY across the face with it! lol) but my hero worship of Raimi has diminished as I've come into my forties. I'll get blasted for this for sure but my two FAV Raimi movies (BESIDES the token Evil Dead films which got me started in the first place) is Drag Me to Hell and A Simple Plan.

Let it begin....

Instead of "All" of the fans were screaming for the Lizard it SHOULD have read "Most" of the fans....
