Lol at the uninformed who said hunger games that's shite compared to battle royale which is what that crap novel stole the idea from. The first issues cover and the adds for this book reference battle royale with the uniforms

@bigkev - hey pal, hate to say it bit you might be the uninformed one her. People are bringing up Hunger Games on this article because the cover of this issue is a clear homage to the Hunger Games, man. I'm sorry, but that's what they're going for here.

i don't think this is gonna be a rip off of battle royale or the hunger games its more of a homage.

The Hunger Games was inspired by many stories that came before it, just as Avengers Arena is.

Marvel cashing in on the success of an unrelated popular series by using Avengers related character?

Just like the time X-Men cash in on the success of a certain vampire series.
. . . Okay, 2 vampire series with Gambit becoming a Cajun vampire and Rouge being involved with that story.
. . . . . Lets make that 3 seeing how Blade is involved with that shit.
. . . . . Though seeing that the main antagonist is Dracula's son, so I guess they cash in on 4 popular vampire series.
Hmm, I forget if the vampires in that X-Men story were like the ones from Hellsing; then I would say that X-Men story is riding on the success of 5 popular vampire stories.
. . . Wait, they have Wolverine as a violent sociopathic vampire so I guess Hellsing counts.
Though how the hell Twilight is involved among the other 4 series in that X-Men sto . . . oh, yeah Jubilee turning into a vampire. Than again she lost her mutant powers long before that story, which makes the irony so incredibly funny and obvious that I should be lynched for even making Twilight reference in an X-Men story.
. . . Though again, Marc Webb made reference to Twilight in Amazing Spider-Man; at least to an awesome degree where the hero is likable and the girl isn't entirely helpless (unlike the last one, who will be hopefully be better written in the next movie).
. . . I wonder why they have Jamie Fox as Electro instead of Mysterio?

Anyway, the point I am making is Avengers Arena is Marvel using the premise of Hunger Games/Battle Royale/Running Man. . . . . And that seems like an interesting read for me.

. . . Still, why Electro instead of Mysterio?
