Fücking idiots (Avengers). Cyke was the only pure one with good intentions and actually acting on them in a swift and fair manner. I'd much rather have Cyke in charge and fixing and creating all the stuff he was fixing/creating then some lying ass hat president with Cap eating scraps off the table and following orders.

All the Avengers had to do was SIT THE F¨CK DOWN and everything would have been allright. Now they've made him out to be some kinda mad god. The ONLY things he's done that were violent were after being provoked/self-defense.

Cyclops: "Oh that? Yeah, just fixing the fault lines so there will be no more earthquakes. ever. Just fixed a couple things last month too. What you ask? Nothing big, just, uhhhh, hunger. and war. Accomplished free power last week. Your welcome."

Captain America: "Attack"

Charles Xaiver: "He's accomplishing everything I had ever dreamed of and creating heaven-on-earth. Clearly he's mad. Attack"

@Stigmartyr

If by "mad" you mean "angry" then yeah. I'd be mad too if I was making the world a better place and the "good guys" kept fücking shît up and making me out to be a bad guy.

I don't like how they handled the art duties. Each artist should've got 4 issues!

He outlawed the Avengers BECAUSE they were attacking him unprovoked (initially), and was only going to hold them until he was done. That's pretty damn merciful and sensical. His "own image" just happens to be what EVERY democratic government and environmental group has ever claimed to have wanted. He's basically doing exactly what everyone would want him to do if they weren't scared of him and were able to organize into one voice and communicate their wants/needs.

Certain things I feel you just shouldn't need permission to do. like saving someone's life. Cyke was doing this on a God-Scale. Saving lives, saving environments, saving economies, etc.

it was obvious from the start that the Phoenix was going to corrupt them.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

@Stigmartyr

Now your just speculating without any ground to base if off of.

@TankD
What does it matter if it's natural or not? Man-kind has done many things that were unnatural to progress civilization. We are destroying the earth unnaturally and the earth is not going to naturally fix it.

@Stig
Rachel held the phoenix without going crazy, and Scott has a far superior will and intentions than Rach ever did. All I can say is this. What would the world have been like if the Avengers has not interfered. Peace, food, and a healthy planet. He never said he wanted to be ruler, either, but hell, I bet he'd make a good one.

So instead of using his ability to run the mutant race after M-Day (oh and Scarlet Witch is a good guy? THAT makes sense, talk about mad gods....) as credentials for running the world you using his personal relationships with women?

If there was a way to officially lose an forum argument, you sir, just lost.

The entire mutant race is loyal to him until now, via poor writing, which was my initial point that I hinted at. I doesn't make sense. Xavier should be working with him instead of against him. And the things you said at the end (making homo-superior the only race on earth, concentration camps...) your just pulling from your waa-zoo. Typing it in a forum doesn't make it true.

I just think that it doesn't make sense that everyone in comics is against him for mainly this reason (then I'll leave it alone): Scott had everyone on his side in the beginning of AvX because of this----he felt, and everyone on his side agreed, that the Phoenix would enter Hope and she would bring a new age of all kinds of awesomeness. Everyone was okay with THAT. An inexperienced child having the Phoenix and doing stuff with it?!?!?! the phoenix went to HIM instead, he does all the awesome things everyone wanted Hope to do, and what? He's a bad guy. Marvel writers can GTFO

Stigmartyr - opinion respected, I just disagree.

Yeah im clueless on Daken as well, his series clearly ended with him blowing up and he has no adamantium bones for his DNA to hold on to. And Beast already knows about X-Force and yet stays at Wovie's side, YET he leaves Scott because of it. Scott disbands it, Wolvie KEEPS it going in secret, and that's ok with Beast....
AlThor
AlThor - 9/6/2012, 11:05 AM
AlcholicA is right. This is just dumb writing.

There was no hint of corruption of the Phoenix 5 before the Avengers decided to kidnap Hope. What tipped them off? Cap's gut feeling? Cause he and the other heroes would be rendered obsolete?

Cyke solved world hunger, provided free energy and banned all weapons and all wars. What's not to like? Other than war, he gives all governments the same autonomy they had before. People could live however they sought to live without killing each other. At least give an inkling that the Phoenix was turning the hosts evil before launching a sting operation. I mean WTF? Even the writers realized how trigger happy Stark and Rogers were by having Black Panther, Beast and Mr. Fantastic say "what's the problem?"

In Cyclop's defense, Colossus doesn't have a soul and Magik is ruler of the underworld. It doesn't seem too crazy to me that they would be corrupted by power. I bet old Colossus would have held on just fine.
