Does anyone actually know how this situation of Hulk having Mjolnir has come about?

Grif is right, the art is terrible. It's like a mix of the 90's and 5 year old indie comics. When I see art like this, it looks like Marvel is making budget cuts by hiring cheaper artists and calling it a "new style" of art. Just because it is new, does NOT make it good.

These quotes sum it up perfectly!!!

@KingSilence

Nothing new about Simonson's style. He hasn't changed much since the mid 80's. His run on Thor back in the day was still better than aything in the last decade or two.

Not a fan of the art.

CBArtist. Taking what you said into account. If his art work has not changed since the 80's, then only solidifies what I was saying about how the artwork looks out of date (in a bad way). He may have had a good run on Thor 20-30 years ago, but this isn't Thor and this isn't the 80's. So I'm wondering, are you saying that his art from the 80's is on par with the evolution of today's renown artists? I know it's simply opinion, but, in my opinion, the art here is not up to par with what today's standards should be.

I actually liked the art last issue more than I thought I would. Although I can't wait for the return of Lenil Yu. I'd like to see him and Waid do a story involving the Abomination.

@Marvel72-Although Walt Simonson IS a legend, it was extremely disappointing for me, personally, when Yu stopped penciling. Part of what was so amazing about this title was the artwork. The story has been fantastic as well, (which is why I will continue buying this title,) but I'm with the guys on here who desire a more modern look with the art. I was collecting back when Simonson was drawing, and, nostalgia aside, I definitely do not miss the styles of the 80's and 90's. If I wanted anyone to pencil from that era, it would be Campbell, Madeira, Silvestri, J.Lee, or maybe McFarlane. And if Marvel is playing the "Bring Back a Great Artist Because a Character That He Was Famous For Drawing is in Our Comic" game, I'd personally rather see Dale Keown drawing Hulk again. Just my opinion....

Peace, y'all.

A reminder, Walt is only drawing for THIS arc. Which is only 3 or 4 issues.

How the fricken crap did the hulk... THE HULK get Mjolnir. The hulk has tried to use Mjolnir before with no luck, but years later he can pick it up and use it to kick some frosty butts. Right now all I say is don't piss off hulk when he has the hammer or whoever pissed him off, is going to be f---. That's all I'm saying.

THE ART SUCKS!!!! Why can't Marvel keep its good artists.

I couldn't disagree more about Simonson's art being unchanged since he had his epic Thor run in the 80's. Go back and look at that art again and compare it to this. His style HAS changed. His pencils look a bit looser and his art almost seems rushed. This stuff isn't nearly as tight and clean as his older work. I liked his work on Thor back in the day but this isn't doing it for me.

If Marvel wants to bring back classic artist to give their books that look and feel then they should be calling in guys like John Byrne, George Perez, Jim Starlin, and Neal Adams.

In an alternate what if story where Hulk is known as the Maestro; he not only used Thor hammer but he used it to kill him

When is Marvel going to spring for a colorists that can actually sync with Simonson's style? It's like this colorist is too concerned with updating the old 80's coloring style associated with Simonson's run. Don't do that. That was the 80's and you aren't even updating it well.
