COMICS: Kieron Gillen And Greg Land Confirmed For Marvel NOW! Iron Man Series

It was rumoured not too long ago that Kieron Gillen and Greg Land would be teaming up for a new Marvel NOW! series featuring Iron Man (taking over from the current creative team of Matt Fraction and Salvador Larroca). Well, that has now been confirmed by Marvel themselves with the following teaser image and text. The existing Invincible Iron Man series comes to an end this October, so it seems safe to assume that it will be restarting from #1. With no details on the title of the book or the characters who will be featured, more information is likely to surface in the build up to the release of Marvel's November solicitations early next month.

Kieron Gillen.

Greg Land.

November 2012.

YES! Land finally has a reasonable excuse to draw hot models!! haha.
And Gillen is absolutely on fire these days, can't wait!

Thx to the exiting Fraction tho, he had a GREAT run.

Actually, the more I think of Fraction's run, the more I'm fond of it.

-He created Ezekiel Stane, smart and successful as Stark, with a huge grudge. He brought him together with the Hammer family (which makes sense, cus Stane feels a lot like Justin Hammer from IM2).

-He brought back a kickass and devious Mandarin, who has been a lot less racist-y.

-He made Tony pay for his douchey-ness in Civil War. Norman Osborn fires him, ruins his company, sends Tony on the run, and Tony has to delete his own mind til he's braindead. karma's a whore!

-World's Most Wanted was an epic, epic story. One of the alltime great Iron Man stories...he used elements from pretty much every era, and wrote the hell out of it.

-He gave us Pepper as Rescue!! I'm counting down til she suits up in a movie.

-He finally got Tony to bang Pepper! and also Maria Hill! when you're on, you're on.

-He dealt with Tony's short relapse, and showed there were huuuuge repercussions for it.

Wow. i'm looking forward to what Gillen can bring.

This book will definitely be good on the writing side. Gillen is killing it in Uncanny X-Men and Journey Into Mystery. If Mr Sinister is anything to go by, Iron Man's villains will definitely get a boost in quality.

@BruceLeroy...I would love to see a Gillen style Ghost.
And revamp some under-used ones too , eg:

-where the hell is Whiplash? You'd think he'd be everywhere after IM2.
-a kickass Titanium Man.
-Coldblood (for obvious reasons, since iM3 is on its way).
-A followup to the Grey Gargoyle story from fear Itself.
-Madam Masque & The Hood
-a Temugin/Agents of Atlas story
-Doom. lots of Doom.

Kieron Gillen is a good choice, really dig his work. Not a Greg Land hater, but also not a fan.

Ugh, I've hated Gillen since the time he wrote reviews for PC Gamer. He's so full of himself, and his writing doesn't impress.

I'm sad to see Fraction/Larroca go as I have enjoyed the ride, "World's Most Wanted" was my fav story arc. Hope the Gillen/Land team up bring us something good.

If there's supposed to be cohesion between MCU and the comics why change the color scheme. Would have been nice to have a story drawn by Adi Granov or Bryan Hitch.

GREG LAND Should be laughed out of the comics industry and Joe Quesada should be ashamed for keeping him on.
