I like the modern touch of Adi's art, and it's also a nice touch to have Neal Adams do a variant cover, he was one of the greats long long ago.

Hmm, I know CA is a super soldier and all, but throwing a shield through a tank turret? Uhm, no...

According to the comic wiki: "Rogers' indestructible shield was long referred to, even in continuity, as being composed of an adamantium steel-vibranium alloy. The vibranium in the shield grants it unusual properties, allowing it to absorb virtually all of the kinetic impact from any blows that the shield receives without injuring Rogers in the process. The vibranium is also a factor in the way Rogers throws his shield: he often uses it to ricochet and strike multiple opponents or stationary objects with little loss of velocity in its forward movement after each impact."

So the shield is somewhat indestructible (except in comics when it's destroyed several times by cosmic beings), but has to be thrown by CA to hit things. He can't throw his shield to put it through a wall. I'm assuming maybe the Hulk could? Tank destruction seems more the work of Mjolinir...

Meh...

Nice. Great artwork.

Maybe I can finally pick up some Cap cuz the regular series is pure garbage.

This is probably just a limited though.

Where's the gun he's supposed to be holding? It's so obvious he was and they painted it out. And I saw a print of him holding it too. Whhhyyy??

I don't think Cap's shield has sliced through the tank's turret. It actually looks like it's turning, hence the shield at an angle instead of still flying straight.

Cap threw the shield so hard it hit the turret (knocking it off), ricochets, and is heading back toward Cap or off to the side a bit at an angle that Cap can sprint to and catch it easily.

Even still, yeah Cap is stronger than a normal human, but he's not THAT strong.

I never bought the fact that Cap is just "a peak human" crap. The stuff he does on many occasions are superhuman, as seen in the example here. The stuff he has done are things peak humans just aren't capable of. Heck I know it ain't comics but in the MCU Cap isn't even peak human, he's superhuman. He threw a man over a tank, lifted a motorcycle with people on them, out swam a submarine, etc. Cap will always be lower class superhuman in my book

TheWolverine08 - 9/29/2013, 3:40 PM
@Dinotron Ed Brubaker has described Cap as the peak of what humans can involve to. He isn't like you and me.

So, we're debating Cap's throwing capacity? That's welcome change!

Dinotron
Dinotron - 9/29/2013, 4:34 PM
@thewolverine
Thts the point, he's basically superhuman in that it's beyond our ability. Say someone like Batman, he can't replicate many of Caps physical feats. No one human can achieve what Cap through natural means. Even if you want to say he is the highest evolved regular human, that in itself makes him super human. Heck why even call him a Super Soldier, if he isn't considered "super" compared to the other human soldiers

Adi's art is almost like a Travis Charest that can meet a monthly deadline..almost.
Love Cap but the shield/ tank bit was over the top.
Leave that stuff to Thor.

How did Cap do this? Simple: Steroids

Demongod20
Demongod20 - 9/30/2013, 2:03 AM
@ Dunejedi1

Captain America can bench press over a 1000 lbs. Vibranium absorbs and stores the energy of things that comes into contact with it and can redisperse that energy. It takes 15,000 of pressure to break tank Armor. So basically It's the energy from caps throw combined with the energy from that Tank shell he was shot with earlier in that panel.

Can we see some of this in the movies. Cap is way underpowered in the movies. And his skill level is not even close to where it is in the comics. Let's hope Winter Soldier changes that.
