Recently, Marvel Comics released a teaser for a new Marvel NOW! series from Jason Aaron (Thor: God Of Thunder) and Simone Bianchi (Wolverine), with the key word being "Birth". Many have been speculating that it could be a new Thanos origins series, since there was one in the works last year before being shelved. Now, Marvel has confirmed that Aaron and Bianchi will be working on the new limited series Thanos Rising, which begins this April. The series "delves into the origins of the universe’s most heinous villain, the death-loving Thanos. It affords readers a rare glimpse into the ultimate nihilist’s early days on his far-off home planet Titan and the major events that lead to his life of cosmic infamy." Thanos recently made his big screen debut in the mid credits scenes of last summer's Marvel's The Avengers, with the Mad Titan rumored to be the main villain in 2014's Guardians Of The Galaxy and/or 2015's The Avengers 2. So it shouldn't come as a surprise that the character will be given quite a bit of attention in the near future, especially with Thanos Rising giving fans a close look into the villain's origins. "This is not a super hero story," Aaron is quoted. "There are no good guys swooping in to save the day here. This is the origin story of a very bad dude. A cosmic mass murder."-Jason aaron

Thanos Rising starts at the very beginning — the day of the Mad Titan's birth — and will feature his parents Mentor and Sui-San, plus new characters. Aaron said it aims to stay true to the work of the character's creator, Jim Starlin.-Newsarama

Sooo excited for this after reading the details. Mentor and the eternals are back, as well as the planet titan. And new characters. I'm Interested to see how this unfolds.

I guess everyone at Marvel has gone dumb, this is not the first time Thanos' origin story has been told. Marvel did an origin story for Thanos once before. It was around the time Marvel released those Infinity Gauntlet mini-series. They did 3 or 4 and I believe the Thanos origin was released between the 2nd and 3rd.

Thanos is one of the most fleshed out characters I have ever read. He's been an all-time favorite for years, and I'm definitely going to pick this up.
