COMICS: Marvel Continues To Tease The Story Of Miles Morales, The New Ultimate Spider-Man!

In yet another teaser image, this time promoting the third issue of the series, Marvel have released a series of panels featuring Miles Morales using his mysterious powers to save a child from a burning building...

If the following teaser for Ultimate Comics Spider-Man #3 is anything to go by, it appears that writer Brian Michael Bendis plans on continuing at a fairly slow pace in telling the story of Miles Morales, similar to how he handled the origins of Peter Parker when Ultimate Spider-Man first debuted. Still not in costume, the teaser features a series of panels under the quote, "Dude, I know you're freaking out, but-but that was amazing".

Coming Soon In ULTIMATE COMICS SPIDER-MAN #3

IMO, it's just like the over reaching political correctness BULLSHIT we saw with Superman denouncing his American citizenship.

Spiderman has been white too long...it's not fair to minorities....we wouldn't want to be seen as RACIST!!

Ultimate Nick Fury

that's all I'm say. Ultimate Nick Fury, so everyone 'against' Mile Morales is wrong.

Miles is a different character to Peter Parker, and Parker still exists in the main Marvel.

HOW IS THIS STILL AN ISSUE.

rbfn04 - 9/21/2011, 10:45 AM
@SuperGuy being a white kid from the 'burbs has a lot to do with who Peter Parker is. How he views the world around him and vice versa...

That being said, Ultimate Universe was created exactly for this. Take characters in directions they can't take in the 616 universe.

@luffycapri isn't the point of Ult. Marvel for characters NOT to come back?

Honestly, hope this Peter stays dead and Miles can grow into a great character...

...and he can turn invisible GTFO!
rbfn04
rbfn04 - 9/21/2011, 11:44 AM
@SuperGuy I know it's a different character. Was just trying to make a point about how race may not be the core of the character but can influence his view of the world. Has a lot to Pete being white.

We can't lump everyone that has a problem with Miles (or Fishburne as Perry for that matter) with the racist bunch. Some just love Pete and wish he didn't die... Not all of them are for racist reasons.

That's all.
plasticman

So does he only save minorities?

Instead of tanking Peter why couldn't they let there be two people in the Ultimate Universe that are bitten by spiders that just so happen to have the same allergy to radioactive spiders that create super powers.
Then Miles could emmulate his hero Spiderman and go by a similar name, like Spider-Lad. He could even refer to Peter as Daddy Long Legs. He could learn life lessons such as the following:
-how to avoid hitting buildings
-what's the best dry cleaner that will keep your secret AND get symbiote stains out of your suit
-which super heroes to truly trust
-what is the best diet to match your super metabolism
-what powers chicks consider turn-ons at school that won't give you away

That scene 100% captures who Spidey is behind the mask, no matter the race, age, creed, or color. I like!
@rbfn04- I agree. Peter has the 616 Universe, the movies, the games, and the cartoons. Let Miles keep the legacy going in the Ultimate universe.
