COMICS: Marvel NOW! Phase 2 Launches With The ALL NEW INVADERS

We already know about Matt Fraction's Inhuman, and now Marvel have revealed another title set to spring from the second stage of their NOW! initiative; a retooled version of WW2 superteam The Invaders, with Captain America, Bucky, Namor and the original Human Torch.

The "All-New Marvel NOW!" actually begins Dec. 24 with Avengers #24.NOW and the campaign will continue through April with story arcs in ongoing series before the launch of some brand new titles, including All-New Invaders and Inhuman, in January.

Here's what writer James Robinson had to say about the reformed team.

"They answered America's call, went to war against the Nazi menace and fought side by side. These guys were brothers-in-arms. As they move into more modern dramas, that link is a link you just can't undo. That will hopefully be the visceral element of this books' identity that will set it apart from the Avengers and X-Men."

Quit whining, Cap represents America and he gets to hand out justice unequally as he sees fit.

The original Human Torch?

What was there a second one? Was he white or black? Was he related to Sue or not?

Also these guys fought Nazi's? I knew Cap and Bucky did but HT and Namor?

What the [frick] is going on at Marvel?

I believe we'll see an Invaders story down the line. CATFA glossed over a lot of details to get quickly to the Avengers and I think it was intentional so flashbacks and period films could be used down the road.

I also think that Marvel and Universal will work out a deal to use the Sub-Mariner some day.

@Levi, Golden Age Marvel dude! Johnny Storm was not the first Torch. Learn your lore. :)

Great to see you The Invaders being bought back. Love the WW 2 stories and I always thought Jim Hammond was the more interesting Human Torch. Too bad Marvel and DC never did a crossover with the Invaders and the original JSA, that would be a blast.

Atlantis just recently got trashed by Wakanda (Panther's sister wasn't playing any games), so all that is basically swept under the rug at the moment. Wakanda semmed to have done more damage.

The Invaders preview has something about" the Kree finding a way to weaponize Norse gods..."

So does that mean Namor and Thor are going to throw down?

THAT would be interesting to see...

so excited for original human torch, so much cooler than Jonny storm.

I've said for a long time that Cap doesn't like Cyclops cos:

a) he did a better job of fixing the world during AvX than Cap did the entire time he was head of shield

b) he's probaly the only character in MU that's a better leadership/ authority figure than him

Namor alliance is proof. i expect him to start dating Emma Frost, adopt Magik and become mates with Collosus any day now :-P
