Ugh...I despise Ramos' style. Yuck.

Also, there is something wrong with "Marvel have" and "which seen"...something I can't quite remember from english class. Something about proper tense and not mixing tenses...or something like that.

That art looks like it was drawn for a kiddies book. Seriously! Looks like the Electric Company's Spidey comic book. That crap is just plain crap.

Like a few of you guys have said, it looks like it's been drawn as a kiddies book. That's been the problem for way too long on ASM, it's supposed to be Marvel's flagship book but if feels like they are totally directing to kids with artwork. It needs to be taken more seriously IMO. Leave the manga style stuff for those style of books.

I so miss Deodato on ASM. Or Larrocca, or McKone, or Garney. I can go on and on. Casselli`s work IS really growing on me though.

Great article once again Josh!

haters. comics are suppose to be colorfull. Spider-Man is not a noir comicbook. I prefered Ultimates 3 by joe mad than "realistic" looking ultimates 2. Ramos is awesome.

Nice! I've always like Ramos on SPidey. His kinetic style fits. As does Bachalo (I'd love to see him back on a Spidey book) and Joe Mauriera (who has "Avenging Spiderman coming and I can't wait) Certain artist just really do Spidey well.

@ dedpool

This art looks horrible! The cover looks like it was drawn by a ten-year-old. Seriously. When I need to read the word balloons to know who I'm looking at (Shang Chi? I thought he was Wolverine out of costume!), that's a huge warning sign of bad art. Art like this would be fine if we're talking about a title aimed at little kids based on one of the many anime-style shows that run on various networks. It's completely out of place in a mainstream superhero title, especially a book that is supposed to be Marvel's 'flagship' title.

Ramos' style worked back in the day on Impulse because Impulse was a very cartoony book. It does not work here, and is a huge distraction from what looks to be an interesting story idea.

Humberto Ramos cannot draw to save his life!

With the prices of comics today I like my artwork to be almost perfect and get what I pay for, not this goofy (Childish)stuff they call Art.

Humberto Ramos needs to just go away or I may decide to quit buying "The Amazing Spider-man". Spider-Man has always been my favorite Comic Book Hero, it's just hard reading Comics when a guy like Ramos just ruin's any Comic Book he touches.

Ramos - Please leave Spider-man alone, Good stories can't save a Comic when you have such Crappy Art work to go with those stories.

I hate the writing for this story. Ugh. Ramos I liked in the past but it feels a little frenzied and liefeld-ish here. :/

That is terrible dialogue. Pop tarts...

madking: How about countering my statements with a defense of Ramos' style? Or an intelligent response to my assertions? Please. I invite a civil discussion of our different perceptions of Ramos' work.

When you just tell me "shut up", you're admitting that deep down, you know I'm right. It shows me that you have no intellectual ammuntion to refute my assertions and therefore, must resort to a childish retort like "shut up", thinking that will show me, and I'll just go away. No such luck. I'm here to stay.
