Good, Cyclops for the past5 series I've read has been pissing me off, he needs his ass kicked. The Prequels are good, not making me all giddy, but it's got it's moments.

Class, can't wait for this. I usually don't read these big event comics as they come out but I'll make an exception for something X related. I doubt they will kill Cyc or Wolvie, it would be too obvious and reflect Civil War too much.

They ain't killing either one. Sorry Cyke haters, but ain't happenin.

CYCLOPS WILL NOT BE DYING!!!! from another picture i have seen looks like some other mutant has some mind control power and makes everyone start fighting

Sounds pretty Awesome, but I'm not a huge fan of the name "Schism" just doesn't work for me, doesn't flow. But this event sounds pretty cool!

i'm no cyclops hater,great character.

but i've got this feeling in my bones.

that this fight will sort of mirror captain america vs iron man during the civil war.

& we all know how that ended.

back in the day they used to describe Cyke's optic blasts as being the only thing capable of pulverizing Adamantium. It was also show in Age of Apocalypse, as Cyclops is the reason Wolverine is missing a hand in that timeline. so you might get your wish...but i doubt it :)
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 6/8/2011, 9:42 AM
anyway, i've been reading the prelude issues, and its driving me crazy that they won't tell you what everyone is preparing for. its the first time the X-Men are pretty much admitting that they're all boofed and don't stand a chance.

anyone thats reading the X-Men series with the new characters the Evolutionaries, do you think they have anything to do with it?

I'm with you on that one, he better not die! He's one of my favs. And where did you get that comic page at?

@ror
Good call....

@CornndogBurglar
The potential for the Evolutionaries is huge, but something tells me they won't use it for much, they never do! They'll probably defeat them and they will pop up again in a few years like the children of the vault. Also the Evolutionaries have been revealed and whatever the cause for Schism is has not.

cyclops really never uses his full power blast, hes always afraid of killing someone and thats not how he works, he normaly only uses it on robots and shit like that, so if hes under some kind of mind control he will melt the shit out of wolverine

I wouldn't be a bit surprised if they did "kill" Cyclops or another prominent mutant to give this story the cheap shock it needs to "change the x-men forever". Whatever the "big change" is, it'll be something stupid, like most of these changes are. See Wanda wiping out most of the mutants in House of M or Spidey revealing his identity or Cap dying in Shitvil War as fine examples of these stupid changes.

No worries, though. Whoever they 'kill' will return good as new in a year or two.

Speaking of people dying and returning, Iron Age: Alpha #1 advertises the return of Phoenix (remember a while back when all the people carrying Phoenix power abruptly lost it with no explanation). So could we see an Emma/Cyclops split (if he doesn't die)?

you should,if you haven't pick up the mutant event story "inferno" tpb.

you'd love what cyclops does to mr.sinister,i believe it was in the pages of x-factor.

Nobody has to die, there are plenty of ways of making an impact with a story without killing a character! Obviously with these teases we can assume that the current team of X-Men will not exist after Schism. maybe there will be NO X-Men for a while?

Hey man, hate to burst your bubble, but the Scarlet IS back. Check out "Avengers - The Children's Crusade" latest issues. But I agree, they don't always bring everyone back.

I'm siding with Cyclops. Of course everyone else is gonna side with that old pincushion. But Cyclops is the *original* X-Man, man! He's the true leader. He's got my vote. Those optic blasts are enough to keep Wolverine pinned.

ScottPilgrim - 6/8/2011, 11:40 AM
I don't like Cyclops because of how he was portrayed in the films. But I like both the characters.

You just know that they'll fight then a big threat will come then they will finally become BFFF and have a threesome with Jean.

Wait..........THAT SOUNDS AWESOME ! ! ! !

actually Scarlet Witch has been back for quite some time. she actually never died, just went into socclusion. it was never even hinted that she had died.

and yes, every prominent and popular character that dies most certainly does come back at some point. not to sound insulting, but how long have you been reading comics? name me one important character who has died and never come back, with the exception of Uncle Ben. I guarantee you can't do it. And i'm not talking about D list characters or villains that no one cares about enough to bring back. i'm talking about important/popular characters.

the writers will not kill their biggest money maker. which will really make this the most un-shocking story ever told.

Cyclops is part of the reason I got into comics. If they kill him off, I'm dropping Marvel completely.

I love how they push Schism as something huge, and chances are the X-Universe will be the same afterwards.
xizorkatarn
xizorkatarn - 6/8/2011, 1:27 PM
Why is everyone assuming one of them has to die? I haven't seen anything that states that. You know something's just going to interrupt their battle and they'll be forced to join forces against it and put all shortcomings aside... just like Civil War.

Sounds great! Love to see these guys REALLY go at it. I'd say Wolvie would take it as Cyclops can't perminantly injure Logan while the opposite is obvious.

Ror, I'd go for that as the soundtrack too.
