Scarlet Witch is my 2nd favorite Avenger character! I love her SOOO much! When will she be in a damn movie???

I will be picking this up!

@MetropolisMarevl...You do realize they only loved each other like that in the Ultimate seires...This is the normal reality, where they are just brother and sister.

@EasterBunnyKiller...That was in the ULTIMATE universe, not the normal 616 universe. They don't have a sexual relationship in 616...only ULTIMATE

I noticed something very odd about that cover. Before Iron Man 2 came out there was this crazy rumor that Olivia Munn was appearing in the film as the Scarlet Witch. Oddly enough, Wanda on the cover bears a resemblance to Munn.

I find them to be the weirdest retcon ever created, Magneto is their father, rather than just having Quicklsilver be a natural speedster like Flash and Scarlet Witch be a Zatanna like character but no, lets have Magneto be their father. Better than the Ultimate universe where they are incestuous

This isn't really a retcon. Magneto eventually pulled the Darth Vader card long ago after they had left his Brotherhood to establish some kind of relationship with them when Pietro started seeing Crystal.

This only shows that Pietro has his suspicions early on. Nothing really new at all.

ComicCritic87: What do you mean? as far as i remember (the 80´s) Magneto was always their father.

@Victor...I knew that as well that it was retconned in the 80s, my point was that this seemed to be a pointless and terrible retcon. Giving Magneto children is one thing but if they were not mutants then that would make an interesting narrative, having him create the very thing he loathes, but instead they put a brother and sister that are pretty cool characters but then latching them onto Magneto just makes it weirder.

Magneto has been known as being thier father since the Byrne drawn Avengers issues in the late 70's, but I wouldn't really call that a retcon. That story was told only a few years after the story regarding Robert Frank (aka the golden age Whizzer) and Miss America being their parents. Before that there never was any reference to their true parents, only that they had been adopted by Gypsies.

Point being, it wasn't really a "retcon" if you think about it. Their lineage to the Franks had only been established a few years before that, and there was no lineage before that. The story of their lineage was still wide open when the Magneto tie came into play.

True, their lineage to the Franks was a wishful assumption by Franks due to the circumstances that he was never able to confirm. It was not a retcon in the sense that it is used today of a rewrite of an established story, rather it was a gradual revelation of an old mystery with a very close but not quite fitting piece of the puzzle turning out to be false.

@StuckInPanels.....Retcon? since when have they been retconned? theyve been Magneto's children from the start.

The good thing is Marvel films and 20th Century Fox is freen to use these characters in their films. Theyre not specifically tied to any rights.

@niknik......If they were adopted by gypsies obviously they would start assuming who their parents are. Quicksilver would obviously think Whizzer is his father.
