COMICS: Marvel Teases "A World Without Wolverine" And New AVENGERS/X-MEN Event Series

More details and artwork have been revealed for the upcoming Death of Wolverine event, and it sounds as if his departure will have major ramifications for the rest of the Marvel Universe. The publisher has also teased another Avengers/X-Men event to follow Original Sin called AXIS...

As we learned earlier this week, "Wolverine: 3 Months to Die" will kick off in issue #8 of the main Wolverine series before Charles Soule and Steve McNiven's five-part The Death of Wolverine takes over to tell the story of Logan's demise. Talking at C2E2 today, the writer revealed that, "Word gets out that he can now be targeted," adding that, "Many of his old enemies decide they want to take a shot at him now." All of the X-Men titles will then deal with the aftermath of his death, and Soule, Kyle Higgins and Salvador Larroca will all be working in that corner of the Marvel Universe as part of "A World Without Wolverine". What will happen to the main Wolverine title? We don't know!

In equally interesting news, it appears as if we should expect another Avengers/X-Men themed event this Fall as Marvel finished off this panel by unveiling the logo below. No details have been revealed as of yet, but it was referred to as the, "Next Big Thing for Marvel" after Original Sin. What do you guys think it means? Here's hoping it's better than Avengers Vs. X-Men anyway...

Meh, he'll come back after a while. It's comics. Everyone dies and comes back some time later.

Hey, can we get an event in which the Fantastic Four (marvel's first family) are involved? They should be the focus in Original Sin, they live for this cosmic mistery shit

Whenever this series is mentioned or any "death" of a character in comics, especially Marvel, can it forever be implied death?
I'm going to go on and call it "Death" of Wolverine.

Meaning of Axis
an agreement or alliance between two or more countries that forms a center for an eventual larger grouping of nations.

Therefor X-Men and Avengers will join forces or something

Look people idk why some people are so negative about wolverine. I mean he is one of the gratest heroes of all time and i really cant see a marvel universe without him. He's been trough so much. There is nothing to say about him except : he's the best there is at what he does.

killing wolverine off is like killing off batman. it's bad writers that turned him into Marvel's crutch. so this death of Wolverine event could be amazing if done right.

Oh whatever will I do in a world without a zillion Wolverine titles that I don't buy anyway?

Avengers and The X-men fighting is amusing but getting a little long in the tooth. Hopefully AXIS will be a turning point for them (as well as not suck).

A world without Wolverine would be the end of Fox Studios ;)
