USA Today has the scoop on Marvel's new Storm series which will be coming to us this July from the creative team of Greg Pak and Victor Ibanez. Apparently, it wll see Ororo Munroe heading off a a proactive peacekeeping mission to topple corrupt governments, stop natural disasters, and establishing herself and mutantkind as true heroes. Amazingly, this will be Storm's FIRST ongoing series! The site also have an interview with Pak in which he says, "We're going to see Storm cutting loose with all the brass and fierceness that comes from having the power to control every aspect of the Earth's weather and atmosphere. And we're going to delve deep into the experiences and perspective that lead her to make decisions no other X-Man would — to tear through walls that no one else may have even realized are there." He adds, "She's a mutant icon — but also a hero to oppressed people everywhere, especially in the ways it might clash with the objectives of her fellow X-Men." What do you guys think? Will you be giving this series a chance come July? Sound off with your thoughts below!

Nice. I haven't read any Pak since his Incredible Herc. What this guy did for Hulk and Hercules is incredible. I always thought Storm was the most interesting in poorly utilized of the X-Babes. I bet Pak could really do wonders for her.

Also, Mohawk Storm is the best.

I gotta say, there are definitely other characters I'd rather see in a solo series right now. Like Doctor Strange, Spider-Woman, Adam Warlock, Blade, and one or both of the Hellstroms for example.

I love how whenever Marvel produces a book featuring a non A-lister everyone on here is like "Why? Can't you just give us more Wolverine!"

Some of you need to give some new books a try.

If there is anyone Snyder should take advice for Superman, is Greg Pak, not Miller. [frick] Miller. Anyway good luck Storm.

It doesn't interest me that much, but I can see why it would interest other people. She is a very powerful mutant, and can definitely stand on her own. And I for one like the mohawk. She looks good with it

Won't be picking this up but still pleased to see the number of solo X-books growing:

Magneto
Nightcrawler
Cyclops
Storm

Maybe that teased Kitty/Magik demon hunter series is next?

How is Pak getting so much work despite him being an awfully mediocre writer? There are s many other, better, writers that could (and should) replace him on Action Comics, Superman/ Batman, and even probably this book. The last good thing he did, in my opinion, was eight years ago, and it was World War Hulk.
