When it comes time to reboot the XMen movie-verse, this should be there take on Wolvie. Just don't cast a tall skinny dancer as the lead.

Definitely into this. Nathaniel Essex would definitely be interested in Wolverine in the late 1800s. This is actually a good chance to bring in some of the Ultimate ideas, such as Logan's blood being at the source of the supersoldier serum or the proliferation of mutants. It took Sinister almost a century to stabilize Apocalypse DNA in all his test subjects, creating most of the mutants we know. Maybe Wolverine's DNA is the catalyst.

This looks great and as a long time fan of Origin ill be checking this out hoping it answers a few questions and ties the gaps between certain stages.

I'm guessing the sharp teeth in that small teaser panel belong to Sabbretooth as Dog didn't have sharp teeth from what I remember.

Would also be nice to see a small Smithy cameo.

Then again Mangold already seems as if he already has his mind made up with what films he wants to draw from.

@monkeyballs Because wolverines are solitary animals, they don't raise shit except their own kids (unlike wolves, where the cubs acan be raised by the whole pack) and in Canada, there are probably three wolverines left.

@GodzillaFart I have a feeling you haven't read "Origin" by Paul Jenkins from 2001 based on your comment. He wasn't raised by wolves. He lived his early childhood on a relatively large house owned by his parents who were farm owners, until one of the employees (His biological father) came and shot his real father. The rage triggered him into unlocking the mutation and he killed his real father and his deranged mother committed suicide after watching what James did. He and the girl who looked after him on the house grounds (He was sickly as a child) fled to a mining camp in British Columbia where they stayed from some time until the day Logan got into a fight with a miner with which he had a rivalry with, when the girl Rose tried to break up their fight before Wolverine killed the guy, he accidentally stabbed her and killed her. The extreme grief he felt made him run away in a feral state into the woods where lived among a pack of wolves for a while. This story is starting off from that point.

I gave you a quick rundown of "Origin" and did skip some plot points, but I hope you get the gist of what I'm saying. Not raised by wolves, lived on a mining camp among people............

@Godzilla Well........ he isn't being "raised" by the wolves. This is simply the time period in which he lived among them after he was traumatized by killing his girlfriend.

@Monkeyballs It sounded to me like Gfart was saying that Wolverine had been raised his whole life among wolves. If he meant something else, then I apologize. I'm not trying to nitpick anything.

I like that his warpaint is where he'll later put stripes on his costume. I always wondered why he liked tiger stripes on his clothes.
