Marvel's upcoming event Secret Wars has led to many writers and artist revisiting past stories and putting new twists on them. Among the stories being revisited is Mark Millar and Steve McNiven's Civil War. The tie-in will be led by writer Charles Soule and artist Leinil Francis Yu, and will present a new take on the conflict between Iron Man and Captain America.

"The idea is to take some of the events in the original storyline and spin them off into entirely new stories," Charles Soule told CNN, "without spoiling, this deals with a world that has been ravaged for quite some time when we pick up the story."

Soule also reveals that the Registration Act is "all in the past at this point," and that the story is more about "a world drastically changed based on a superhero war, and it's a huge story and it's fun to be able to involve every Marvel character there is."

No exact release date has been given for the tie-in series, but with Secret Mays set for this May expect to learn the release date soon.

Oh look, they're ripping off Injustice.

Injustice kinda focused on only one event not like over 30 events at once.

That being said I will always say the Injustice comic series has been the best comic series in all of comics in a long time since it came out for

1. You see characters die like Joker and others.
2. You see characters grow like Nightwing who ever he died, and something happened to Deadman, Nightwing became the new Deadman.
3. Real shit goes down like how Superman took out Oa.

@LEVITIKUZ Preach it. Injustice has been consecutively good with twists you don't see coming and great writing and art. It's kinda ridiculous to think DC's current best comic series span out from a video game.

I feel like Mavel needs a game similar to DC's Injustice God's Among Us and could call it Marvel Civil War. Just a straight up Marvel fighting game with the 40 character roster. Storyline would follow comics to deree but have diffret twists and turns like injustice had. Obv not copy a storyline like Ulimate Alliance 2 had...

Essentially, they're looking at Civil War in the past, gotten ideas of how to make it an elseworld story and incorporate that into the current Marvel comics before the reboot comes.

Simply put.

The whole "a world drastically changed based on a superhero war, and it's a huge story and it's fun to be able to involve every Marvel character there is" just screams the concept of Injustice to me.

Damn, Chatles Soule already has McNiven and now he has Leinil Yu. Marvel is just giving him all their best artists.

this is basically a "what if the civil war storyline never ended" story. not a rip off injustice because i am pretty sure Civil War (the original comic book storyline) came out WAY before injustice. I love how people continue to pit Marvel and DC against each other. Why not just enjoy both? or hell here is an idea.....if you enjoy only 1 then why the [frick] would you waste your time to bash the other? smh makes no sense to me at all to waste energy doin that shit.

Civil War is an awful storyline based around shock value... Injustice is an awful storyline based around shock value...
I guess they're similar in that respect.
