COMICS: No Cyclops In Uncanny X-Men #1

The SDCC MARVEL: YEAR OF THE X-MEN panel is in full flow, and some very interesting news is beginning to filter through. Scott Summers will not be a part of the team come the first issue of the new Uncanny X-Men. Will he meet his maker in Schism?

We know X-Men: Schism will pit Wolverine against Cyclops, but what of the aftermath? Well let's put it this way. Wolverine will be a part of the re-launched Uncanny X-Men comic, Cyc won't be..

From the X-Men panel at San Diego Comic Con, after showing you the Wolverine And The X-Men cover Bleeding Cool shared with you this morning, Marvel shared an image of the new Uncanny X-Men #1 with Emma Frost, specifically noting the abscence of Cyclops.

And that Cyclops would not be in the comic.


This doesn't necessarily mean that they will kill him off of course. There are plenty of other X titles out there after all. And even if he does take a dirt nap for a while, you know he'l be back anyway!

So Wolverine's gonna be in Uncanny AND W and the X-Men....lame....Cyclops has gone on hiatus before, no biggie. He'll be back, or else I'm taking a trip down to Marvel HQ.........

Wolverine's getting a bit too much attention at the mo... I mean hes one of my favourite characters, but he's becoming too big a part of the team. I preferred when he was a loner who was only grudgingly in the X-Men. Now, he's practically their leader. And poor ol' Cyke is being booted out of the comic, just like the movies.

Please. Logan is used so much because he deserves to be, he is an icon. One of the greatest characters comics has ever produced. Cyclops is a whiny git with a pole up his ass that can shoot lasers out of his eyes. Oh sorry, "he also the leader and master strategist etc etc"/ Right, that's frackin awesome. Tell you what, come back to me when we have "Old man Cyclops". Cos that's just begging to be written isn't it?

Lets hope they at least bring Havok into the fold as the leader of X-Men.....also with Cyclops gone that would mean no Cable which really BLOWS !!!! Cable is awesome!!!

Ummm.....there's no Cable because he died.... whether Cyclops is alive or not shouldn't affect him staying dead or coming back. It would be kinda ironic though If Cable came back and Cyclops is dead, since Cyclops sent him on his death mission.

Yeah Wovie's awesome, no question, but so are Honey Nut Cheerios, but if I ate 3 bowls 7 times a day for a couple years I would never want another bowl. And that's the way I'm personally starting to feel about Wolverine. I've been a cyclops fan for a while because he's willing to do ANYTHING for the cause. And the [frick]ed up part/coolest part is that HE decides if the cause is just or not, which is pretty interesting and also why a lot of mutants hate him. He'll sacrifice his closest friends if he has to in order to keep mutant kind, as a whole, alive.
